I have to find just the right spot…
Well, mama feels that the only big problem with this isolation is that she couldn’t plant any new roses the garden this year. There is a lovely rose lady near our village with five greenhouses from which mama found Sweet Love (her favorite) and several others some years ago, but due to strange weather and high winds, we lost three plants over the years and really need to replace them.
I just hope no one is watching….
“Sigh,”mama says, dreaming of salmon and yellow and pinky-white roses.
She loves her roses and is trying to get little cuttings to grow from her favorite, Sweet Love, but they are stunted with this weird weather and only 4 inches high (even if one actually produced a tiny rose last month).
I keep…er…watering the little one she actually put in the ground, and it has doubled in size so maybe I’m on the right track with my personal “contributions” to the little guy.
Emphasis on “little”…
Cuttings that don’t cut it yet…
So there are some strange drawbacks to being isolated and there are certainly more serious ones than not being able to visit the Petal Pusher, but next spring will be different, I hope, for everyone.
Meanwhile, I’ll keep my watering can handy to help mama’s rose garden.
Hey, I deserve a little roll in the mulch after watering…
Helping your mom gardening is very sweet of you, LouLou…and then the mulch…I love it! Extra Pawkisses and next year will be different..purromise🐾😽💞
Oh, let us hope for that!😺
We hope you take time to stop and smell the roses, Loulou. 🙂
Oh, a very good thought! Well, we have lots of time right now because we’re isolated in the roses, sort of.
Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet and so are you, Loulou. Have fun rolling in the garden.
Aw, shucks…I love that poem….
WOW – I see beautiful plants and flowers!! Mama plants cactus in all the jardinieres because they seem to live no matter what LOL! But Papa’s orchids are beautiful and really OLD – he has more of a green thumb. But there are plants IN the apartment that seem to thrive! No catnip, sorry, Loulou…….
OH, mama meed help with a limp orchid about which she knows zilch! How lovely to have an orchid expert in house!
How did you find loulou
Mama’s longing for a kitty just reached out and she put out a little dish of food in our garden and lo and behold, I showed up! Within days of her longing…..
She moved the food closer and closer to the kitchen door and on the fourth day, I walked inside and ate. Mama gently closed the door….lucky me.
how do i convince my parents to let me have a cat?
Well, the first question is…why do they NOT want you to have a kitty. There are big responsibilities when you find a cat. Maybe they are concerned about that.
Oh LouLou -maybe the Donkeys can make a contribution in the way of fertilizer to help Mama’s roses.
Oh, they have done, they have done…our donkey owner says we can come and get it anytime! That was in the past but mama’s soil is really black and good and she used bio fertilizer like bat guano and so on but our weather has affected her roses this year. The donks are HAPPY to contribute, haha.
Your Mama might start calling you Rosie!
Well, or Thorny….
