Well, I’m catching up on my Italian news in La Repubblica because I want to find out more about why our beautiful Roma is full of garbage, neglected, forgotten by the mayor, Signora Raggi.
Even I can see from my lookout point in the living room that the piles of garbage outside in the street should NOT be there.
BUT…the homeless here are helping to clean up the streets and make a little money at the same time. This, for me, is wonderful. Someone is thinking outside the box.
Or outside the mayor’s office, haha.
I think I’m going to have to go out there and lend a paw!
I like this picture. In my experienced, my cat always arranged my shoes on the floor, in some ways, she’s helping me to clean my messy room. I did not trained my cat to do that, I got her from the pet adoption event. By the way, thank you for sharing this. Please refer to this link: https://wagspetadoption.org/adopt
Thank you for adoption information.
Its my pleasure to share your post! Thanks again, just keep me posted. Have a nice day!
Thank you, and welcome to my all-over-the-map meanderings of the pen. Er…Pad.
Too bad for such a beautiful city ! We hope they find a solution. Purrs
I’m getting out my broom! Whatever that is.
What a great way to help the homeless…and have them earn a little money.
Yes, and they like having something to DO. It’s a good solution.
Loulou, what a great idea – I’ll bet there’s some good pasta and pizza leftovers we could help with cleaning-up there!! Hey, better Rome than Paris – those gilet jaunes went wild over the weekend and made a MESS! Mama has been reading about Rome – and the articles say wild boar and rats are helping clean up – but that’s sort of scary. And the sheep are cutting the grass. That’s a nice idea. It all sounds very ecological to me. But garbage is not pretty and neither is what’s going on here. Time to appreciate the beauty, history and culture here – and there – people sometimes take for granted, and keep it beautiful. Go Girl – but watch out for those wild boars!!
Hey, those guys walk down the steets but I haven’t seen any near us. I did see them in France at the seashore looking for water and was worried they would drink salty water, poor little baby boars! I’m cleaning up in my own way by bathing my self and mama. I think that’s a good start, don’t you?
This is something that infuriates me. I don’t understand how such neglect can be permitted.
From what I hear and read, Paris too is badly unkempt, even filthy, with rats running all over the place.
In the old days cats used to take care of rodents.
Are you tempted, Loulou?
Let me at ‘em!!! And where ARE all the kitties in this town? I never see kitties in Rome except the ones mama feeds at the Largo Argentina. And it’s getting cold here….
There you go, Loulou. Help keep the city clean and add a little cash to buy your mama and papa nice gifts for Christmas. We’re proud of you!
We’re pleased the homeless are able to earn a little money. That’s a good idea.
Well, they do a good job, too. And it’s getting colder so they’ll need a place to go. There are some nice places here for the homeless, with food and shelter.
That sounds like a good idea.
I’m going to practice by cleaning up the kibble in my dish.
Oh – a garbage strike in Rome ? I hope things get resoled suitably – and some of the homeless get s full time job out of their help.
Yes, it’s a positive and negative situation, but the homeless have jobs, which is good.
