Uh, oh, did I remember the plums?
Well, probably no one will make these, but mama makes them every year and soaks each one in a bit of brandy and gives them away to friends during the holidays. A sort of old-timey English touch.
It’s not the Dickens to make one. You’ll see…
And they keep in the freezer for another year. YAY.
Mama makes them so that papa can have the butter sauce for a holiday treat.
PS No plums are needed…prunes, apricots, raisins, apple will do nicely.
🌺😸😸
And happy birthday to aunty Annabel.
We had a plum pudding given to our family eons ago, when I was a teen…and no one liked it at all…being of Dutch heritage, well it was unfamiliar! Maybe we didn’t know how to eat it! So we broke up the leftovers and put it out for the birds…and they rejected it too…even the squirrels did not fall for it, LOL! Oh well.
You look rather sauced up there LouLou!
It clearly was not mama’s plum pudding. Plum pudding gets a bad rap, along with fruitcake, haha. You have to have mama’s recipe.
I’ve never had plum pudding, Loulou. Am I missing out? ~Ernie
Yep. But actually dried fruits may not be everyone’s cup of pudding…the butter sauce is good though if you leave out the booze. Take some out and spike it for the anthros and you lick the mixing bowl, haha.
Well I think that’s a lovely tradition – I wish we lived next door to you so we could be the recipients of a plum pudding from our talented neighbor every year! Never had plum pudding but it sounds like QUITE a treat.
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)
Oh, I wish they traveled, mama says. But alas, it would be probably be eaten in the post office, haha.
That looks plum delicious, Loulou. Purrrfect for the festive season.
Oh, they are riche! But one eats a small bit with the butter/powdered sugar sauce and that’s enough. For some, anyway. And it’s all fruit! Not much butter or sugar.
Oh, Loulou – we are soooo spoiled! I had treats yesterday – snacks (dog treats) but today it rains! Well, can’t be good weather all the time. I’m in the bed with Mamma – that’s my new thing! Papa has found if I’m in the bed – I sleep rather than wake him up, LOL!!!!
Oh, snuggled up with maman…the BEST. Cold here, too, and rain. Argggh.
Loulou, you look as cute and silly as ever, and boy does that plum pudding sound delicious. Please thank you mom for the recipe. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, angel Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet
Well, she would love a report if you make it. It’s worth it once a year and they keep such a long time in the freezer.
I bet that is really tasty. XO
Oh, oui, it is really good, mostly fruit, not much fat. Such a healthy dessert, haha. The booze helps….
Loulou, have never had a taste of a plum pudding…
Well, this is the real thing, but mama tweaked it so that there is no animal suet used as there was in the old days. Mama used half olive oil and half butter, but not much of either.
That photo sorta makes us wonder if you’ve been into some other kind of sauce, LouLou !
Well, I never! Mama lets me sniff her vino when I look curious but argggggh, not my cuppa. If kitties could tipple, would we have fun!!!
