Mama, I heard those drips but I forgot to tell you. Besides, you were sleeping and we don’t want to mess with THAT, do we?
Oh, woe is we. Mama’s office had a little river running out of it this morning from a leak in her skylight. Yes, the very same skylight on which the lovely rain was tapping all day and all night and mama and papa were saying “Isn’t it lovely to have a skylight and hear the rain doing its little dance while you work?” And yes, it’s great until it isn’t.
Not that anyone is interested in a photo of a leak. Ho hum. Loulou, get a life.
BUT IT POURED yesterday. A waterfall from the spout off the roof went into the garden and who knows where it went from there since the ground is pretty well saturated here. Are you having storms like these? The waves in the sea were enormous and scary, not like the Mediterranean at all, more like Noah’s flood!
I think I’m going to help mama build a little raft for me, just in case.
Meanwhile, I’ll just sulk on the couch because THEY won’t let me out. What is that wet stuff anyway?
Maybe water wings are a better bet…(whatever they are).
When in doubt, drop back and snooze.
Or watch this video of The Westminster Dog (Cat?) Show and be delighted!
We’re sorry about the leak, that’s no fun at all ! We hope everything gets fixed very soon. Purrs
We think it’s fixed but we’ll see…..
OMG – Maman had no idea of the leak!!!!! And had no idea it was raining there. DARN. Hope it’s an easy fix with maybe some silicone? Well, Loulou, you can have the two basics handy that all (real) New Orleanians who live in low lying areas have in their attics – an ax and an inflatable raft. No kidding. You are asking – “why the ax?” – to chop your way out of the attic since the water rises fast during those once every 30 year hurricanes, and the only way to go is UP – and hopefully out.
SO. Remember the basics Loulou. Ax, life raft, kibbles. , you need help with flooding? Just ax my momma (oops, ask).
AN AX? WOW. Maybe with a paddle on the other end, haha.
Sorry about the leak 🙁
Yes, leaks are becoming quite a big deal in your Mama’s home country these days too ! And not just at the Oroville Dam !I hope there wasn’t too much damage !
Oh, Mary, you are so funny. Wish there could be more leaks about you know who!!!
We’re sorry you had a major flood and were nearly washed away by huge waves in your own home. Oh, wait, that’s not quite right, is it? Well, we are sorry you had such a bad leak you needed a long nap to recover from the shock. Hope the house is dry and there is no leak now.
There is a man on the roof right now fixing the skylight that leaked, or rather putting a little eyebrow over it so that the water will go another way.
Looks like you know how to “weather” the rain well, Loulou. That leak in the skylight really sucks!
Being fixed, as I write! Then I snooze with confidence.
Oh no! Leaks are no fun. Hope the rain stops and the leak gets fixed.
Well, the next storm is this weekend, and we’ll see!
Oh LouLou, sorry ’bout da leak. We sure hope nuffin’ was ruined or none of your mommy’s paintings were affected. Our ‘pawrtment flooded a while back and we know how terrible dat can be. Sendin’ purrayers and big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Maybe I could borrow your little boat for the next time, haha. It wasn’t a big leak, thank heaven, just a leak that brought in some water but now there’s a man fixing it.
