Turned on my magic tummy searchlight to check out this Sunday’s happenings…and

…oops, we are getting a bit damp here, but not much. Just enough to clean off the streets a bit, which, I see from my vantage point, need it, especially now after Saturday night’s rowdyness.

A sweet thing, however, that happens often under our windows on weekends is a band of young anthro students who suddenly burst into song together, and last night’s group actually harmonized beautifully as they walked through the streets.

Just another little perk for mama and papa. We stay near a school from which the students emerge at lunch time and afternoon, and their interactions are great fun to watch. Good energy.

When June graduation begins, they will spray one another with white washable paint and they all run around in the piazza looking like statues that have come alive. They almost sprayed mama once but did not press the button on the can when she yelled, “NO NO GRAZIE, I’m too old!”

A sweet city where I can also brush up on my history… and find out why the Colosseum has no roof, haha.

A few happy scenes on a Sunday:

A shop dedicated to Pinocchio (whoever that is…).

The lovely turtle fountain in what is called the Ghetto.

And mama, a few years ago, throwing her coin into the Trevi fountain to make sure she returned to her beloved Roma. Mama says that now you can’t even get to the fountain to throw a coin–too crowded.
