Bonjour, printemps!!!
Our market is full of wonders, mama says, and for me, the garden is full of merles–those blackbirds that sing when spring begins and are so beautiful and their music is like no other bird, but…they start singing at 5am and I’m sleeping!!!
Still, we are so lucky to have their music and the rose that mama’s neighbor gave her two years ago is climbing all over the garden fence and the VF Roma tomatoes have pushed their little heads out of their seed beds and the 2.5 pound Beefsteak Hybrids are up, too, and there is fresh spinach all over the place (well, at least a few salads will come of it) and the garlic tops are almost ready to push over to let the heads head and there is wild arugula everywhere and the fava beans are bursting and the lemons are lemoning and all the other roses are rosing and I am happy as a pig in you know what because guess what?
MY CATNIP IS IN PRIME CONDITION AND I’M OFF TO ROLL IN IT.
I love spring, don’t you?
You’d better go out and roll in yours. It’s really fun…
Whoa that is some prime catnip, we would like to roll in it too.
That was last year’s stuff. Wait’ll you see the NEW bed. No wonder I’m a little wobbly on my paws lately….
