I stayed up too late and watched elections.
But, we are really happy here in France that the infamous Marie Le Pen has slipped into the sidelines after the young, vibrant Mr. Macron took this first vote by storm. This, a man who quit his job as Finance Minister with President Hollande and said, “I’m going to run for President instead.”
A go-getter. Hard to translate in French. I’ve asked a few kitties for the equivalent but got no response. So many words in English, a very rich language, do not translate into other languages and vice versa. “Magari” for example in Italian, which actually can be used as “I wish” as in “Was that you whose anthro gave you double kibble the other day by mistake?” And you answer, “Magari!”
So it’s not easy to follow the election parties without a dictionary. There is the centrist left and the far left and the centrist right and the far right and even more parties and now there is this upstart who is vowing to get them all to work together for a stronger France instead of separating themselves from the issues that need attention. Sound familiar? Well, let’s hope he can pull it off and show the old guard what a new pup can do.
A supporter of Frexit, he is not. He wants France to stay in the European Union and become strong, like Germany.
He says he will be tough on the UK and tough on Trump. YAY, let’s hear it for Macron. Besides, as one of mama’s friends said to her during the campaign, “He has my husband’s blue eyes, so I will vote for him for sure.” She was pulling mama’s leg, but he DOES have Martin’s blue eyes!!
Hey, as good a reason to vote for him as wanting to vote for Le Pen because she wants to take France back a few centuries!
Felicitation, M. Macron. We are behind you all the way, plus I hear you like kitties.
Mama just told me I have to watch more elections on May 7th! I had better rest up…
Oh, Loulou, we must pray very hard that Macron wins in the May 7 election. So many frightening things are happening in our world. But as long as you are there with your adorable tuxie self we will be happy, even here in the US!
I think he has a good chance, especially now that there is hanky-panky with Le Pen regarding misuse of government funds……
Hey, I’m so much happy to see your first picture. This picture make me laugh
I like making anthros laugh. Thank you.
Bonjour, Loulou – well, mama & moi are watching tv morning news now and the polls show Macron beating Le Pen in the final by about 30 points!! BUT we have learned not to take anything for granted since the White House has been contaminated by Agent Orange.
And maybe the name of his new political party that describes his go-getter attitude – “En Marche”!!!! Besides being forward-thinking, inclusive, and pro EU – he’s cute.
Oh, those eyes…Gigi is in heaven to have him almost running the country with Martin’s eyes, haha. And his wife is darling, too. I, personally, should talk to Mya about getting a seat in his government for animal protection.
Loulou, pictures of you always make my day. The first makes me want to cuddle up to you … and the second makes me giggle, you goofy girl!
Well, I am trying to pose for new ones but mama has to be quicker on the trigger, in my view. Thank you for liking them!
Wow – ANOTHER election to go though within two weeks ? We are just dreading the 2018 midterms !
Stay strong !
Guess you did stay up to watch elections too late. You look in a trance in that last pic. You might not want to state so hard at the tv on May 7th.
Oh, I hope I want to stare. I do not want a fascist running France, not to mention the father she came from who denied the Holocaust.
Good luck to him!
Thank you, Ellen. And so cute, too!
Aaaaaaaaaw LouLou, you’re lookin’ so purretty. We wouldn’t have noticed you missin’ any beauty sleep. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Yes, I don’t miss a wink normally, but THEY wake me up to snuggle all day long! They need to watch their manners.
