Well, mama showed me these photos of the lovely, magnificent Russian cathedral that has just been restored to its original beauty, and the only thing wrong with these pics is THOSE TWO KITTIES hanging around outside. Probably wanting attention and food, if I know my kitties.
The cathedral was opened in 1912, thanks to the generosity of Russia’s Tsar Nicholas II from 1931 until 15 December 2011 (after a longstanding legal dispute over ownership was resolved), and now is open to the public.
Here’s mama doing a Russian dance (well, she can’t bend her knee or she’d be in the proper position; I could have done it but they DID NOT TAKE ME).
And here is the lovely virgin made of real pearls and rubies and seed pearls and photos of the decoration in all of the arches inside the cathedral.
But why does she always pick out STRANGE kitties to photograph at these historical sites when I should be the only kitty on her mind wherever she roams?
Ah, well, the cathedral is magnificent, as I saw in the photos, and if those kitties want to learn Russian, so be it.
Bol’shoye spasibo! To the wonderful restorers who have given this cathedral its original beauty and grandeur! Thank you very much.
But they could have asked me, right?
Home, alone.
Do those kitties live there? If so, that’s one spectacular home!
Yeah, they live THERE and the priest and everyone feeds them because they are really FAT and sassy and not like feral cats at all.
Poor Loulou. You look lonely in your big bed.
The two black kitties are not as pretty as you are. So there!
I went to Russia once upon a time. The Russians sold ice cream from stalls on the streets that had 3 feet of snow. Hmmm.
Maybe Mama will bring you some really good caviar. Yum.
NO, NO, mama is not in Russia. I wish! Then she COULD bring me fish eggs. This is the Russian cathedral in Nice, France. Lucky you to have gone to Russia.
Those photos are spectacular. I hope those kitties have a home somewhere.
Leave it to your mom that wherever she goes, she finds a furry or so to make her feel welcome. Your mom looks very authentic in that photo, except for the straight leg, of course, but when you can’t bend, you can’t bend. Really lovely cathedral, but you are the star of the post, as usual, Loulou. 🙂
Well, das vadanya…thank you for kind words. I could do that dance because my knees function, but I’d rather watch, haha.
