Well, I been thinkin’…this summer is really getting to be summer and I don’t think I’ve been through this kind of weather before, or at least I can’t remember when I have been so lethargic, whatever that is, and lazy, I know what that is, and just plain wiped out!
So are mama and papa. But mama’s in the garden still, encouraging her basil to grow (which it won’t because the season is over and we missed it) and hoping for a tomato or two (we’ve had about a hundred in other years but this year—zilch) and every now and then giving a squirt to my two pathetic catnip plants (which just didn’t have the the tlc they needed to make themselves into a drug bed where I could space out) and she’s also in there whipping up some chicken tonnato (no veal–mama doesn’t like the idea of baby meat but chickens don’t bother her at all since she was attacked by one when she was little, haha) for tomorrow’s Big Day Here in France and so I’m hoping for a little lick off the spoon when she’s finished, even if capers are not really my gig.
Just let me at that tonnato–I’ll show it what’s what!
Still…things could be worse than having gaspacho and cold chicken with tuna sauce and nice sweet watermelon and good friends with whom to watch the Big Bangs That Are Coming
So I’m just gonna lie here and ruminate on all of it until they tell me to get dressed in my red, white and blue cat’s pyjamas.
And as soon as they tell me, I’m outta here…
Rest up, Loulou. You probably won’t be able to sleep once all the noise starts. 🙂
I slept through the whole thing because mama made a mistake and it was in the next town over!!!! Here the bangs are on the 16 of August.
Smart move, Loulou. When they tell you to get dressed, LEAVE!
I beat it out of there so fast….
