A day of grief for the students, teachers and families in Santa Fe, Texas. Our ailing country–its schools, its laws, its foreign policies, its inattention to its children and seniors, its lack of leadership, its continuation and enhancement of suspicion and wariness from the rest of the world–needs very strong medicine.
Who will stand up and heal?
We’re beginning to think nothing will ever change, Loulou.
I know, I know, it’s looking that way, but sometimes an event has to hit bottom before climbing out of its muck. Like alcoholism or any obsession.
Who will stand up and heal? The voters. WAY fewer guns and Fox news OFF the air. Mental health service and healthcare for all. A revolution is needed. Nicholas Kristoff wrote a very telling piece yesterday in NYTimes about gun violence, with shocking numbers. Very depressing. Think I’ll go have some kibbles……..
Mama will surely read that one to me. Where are our sensibilities? We seem or rather YOU ANTHROS seem to have become less human. Better get a grip and be more like us, right?
ABSOLUTELY!!! EN PLUS – It’s an insult to us real animals when “certain people, especially with orange comb-over hair” call violent, mean-for-the-fun-of-it people “animals”.
Oh, how much smarter are we.
Yes, I think anthros are losing their minds. They seem to be less like human beings every day and more like animals. NOT US, of course, but barely civil and asleep at the switch when it comes to changes that would enhance life.
Sadness for all those at the school and the families!
Let’s hope they vote against NRA power.
Very sad indeed.
And yet, no end to it.
Oh, Loulou…
It’s so sad that our children are being bullied by teachers and other students alike and turns these lonely sad children into vengeful monsters. When will people stop being so hateful to others? So sad😿
Yes, his sister was bullied, but not he. He appeared fairly normal to all, if a bit of an introvert. But why can’t these children be observed when they are obsesses with violence, as they said he was. Where are the psychologists in these schools, the mentors, the leaders?
I did not know his sister was bullied. But I did read that his teachers and other students made fun of him wearing a trench coat everyday. And some worried he could have guns hidden there. He may have gotten the idea by them!
We might learn the truth on this one since he turned himself in instead of killing himself like all the others. We can only hope there is something to learn here that can help prevent these tragedies.
A very good observation, Patzy. I shall follow up on this and yes, much to be learned.
Very sad about the Texas shootings. Too much hate and badness in the world.
Our thoughts are with all those affected.

And the kids said, well, it didn’t surprise us. We thought it might happen here, too. THAT is the sad part.
