Mama, I don’t want my friends to see me like this, okay?

I am a French kitty, and French kitties really should wear scarves, as do their anthros in France.  A French anthro would not be caught dead without her scarf, and that goes for men, too.  They just seem to know what to do with a scarf, and since the weather is not always South-of-France mild, a nice little scarf comes in handy for warding off the torments of cold winds, rainy days, and …might I say this here…aging necks.  One can also discreetly wipe one’s drippy nose, but we won’t go into that here…

Well, I won’t have to worry about that for awhile, that is, not until my lovely little black and white fur scarf starts falling out, which I hardly think it will, being kitty fur, and except for those naked, billiard-ball, really WEIRD (but cute) Russian kitties, most of us have a goodly amount of neck protection.

But I just love sneaking looks a mama’s friends when they come over for a party or when they’re going out to dinner and meet at our house first.  Those French twists and turns of a piece of silk or wool are absolutely amazing—over and under first, then pull through one side, then loop it nicely and pull the other side through.  I tell you, I’d have to go to a class on knots to learn all the ways a French woman can turn a scarf into the main event!

Here are some photos of mama who tries to learn a new one every now and then but how many are there anyway? Will she have time in a lifetime to absorb the intricacies of scarf-knotting/tieing/draping/twisting/nose-blowing?

Hey, you have to begin somewhere, and thanks to friends with whom she has strong ‘ties’, haha, so to speak, she has about four pretty good knots to work with on any given day.

Here is mama tie-ing one on…
