That shadowy figure in the background is guess who, trying to make out why this pink kitty balloon is in OUR HOUSE! Mama says I have to learn tolerance, and eventually, I batted at the string attached this THANG and we accepted each other.
Well, in keeping with that, this is a really enlightening article in the NYT about how immigration can actually enhance a dying town and how the group in the town that is against welcoming immigrants is only that way because of not having been educated about who the immigrants are and what they are able so often to contribute to a community.
It caught papa’s eye because his mama was from Rutland, Vermont. Interesting, too, how so many small towns are weakened by their inhabitants leaving for the big city and how there is often no one left to do the jobs needed to keep a town healthy and prosperous.
A good read for the New Year.
Mama says I am a good kitty to get to know that which I know nothing about.
Awww … we LOVE that picture of you and your Mom together … we see a lot of love there!
Well, mama gets a little worked up over me when we lie down because I reach out my paws…
Did you and your mama take a long nap after all that thinking. Thinking makes us tired. In that last picture we’re not sure whether you’re patting your mama or asking her to get up and do something for you. Hope you had a good beginning to 2017.
Oh, we were just resting and our New Year’s is always at home ALONE—no bangs or parties or anything this year. PERFECT.
Loulou, did you get to play with that big pink kitty balloon?
That big pink sucker scared the bejeezus out of me!!! I did not like it AT ALL. Mama kept saying something about claws and popping and I’m really glad it did not do that, whatever that is.
I love Rutland, Vermont. I used to go to the Vermont State Fair up there when my Mom had a place on Killington.
Oh, you should talk to papa. I think his grandmother has something or other in the museum there about her life. Mary Burnham Pond was papa’s mama and HER mama was someone or other in the town, fairly important as an historian.
OMC LouLou, You and your mommy look sooooooooooo purrecious. Dat sure is a big pink kitty. We’re glad you showed it who was boss. MOL Big hugs to all
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
It was quite a shock but I was nice to it because it was a guest, a big PINK one!
We think you’re a good kitty, too, especially since we all know ALL kitties know everything of which we supposedly know nothing about.
Well, that was a mouthful but you are so right!
