Well, mama remembers sparklers as long sticks that shot out silvery sparks on whatever holiday was being celebrated and she loved them! But Monday sparklers are even more important in these uncertain days. One of our favorites is “what other people think about you is none of your business”, haha.
I think we’ve mentioned that one before but it’s good to remember.
Especially when a really cool kitty brings in a destroyed mouse or rodent or whatever the cool kitty cornered and whapped!
“Whatever it is that a kitty whaps and eats is none of your business!”
Or, as mama reminds herself, “whatever anyone else wants to eat is none of her business”.
I think she started reminding herself about that when papa told her that as a kid he used to stir spoonsful of a powdered milk called Klim (milk spelled backwards) into a glass of milk and eat it with a big spoon…
OH, boy, sounds good to ME. Not sure about the milk thing.
Another sparkler around here is that thing about a problem being an opportunity. Worth repeating.
And maybe a new one: Love your kitties as yourselves! And be very thankful for people like Pete Cusack and all the lovely people who have helped animals so often. I wish we had known him.
Just thinking about him is a spark for Monday. Happy birthday, Mr. Pete.
We’re all going to miss Mr. Pete. He was a great cat dad.
Was he ever. So many sweet stories from so many …
Oh I remember sparklers! That was the only thing we kids were allowed to participate in on July 4th. Otherwise Dad did the fireworks. Mr. Pete was a one-man sparkler – he touched so many lives (human and cat) in so many ways. He was wise and caring. He will always be a special memory for many. You my dear Loulou are a sparkler yourself! Cheering up everyone with your photos and posts…..
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Oh, I hope so. We awakem around here and say, okay, okay, let’s get some energy and have FUN at least one time today. And smile even if you don’t really feel like doing it…
Such cute pics of you, Loulou. Who’s needs sparklers when they have you.
Oh, you are too kind. I think mama tries to find my good angle when she takes pics, haha.
Mamma remembers those sparklers!! I’ve never seen them – but they sound FUN!!! Today Mamma will make the poster (in French and Spanish) for the expo! While she still can! The show is end of March and Ariil and May – Mamma is excited!!!
Incredible to have a show of three months! I just hope the virus is not rampant again. Good, good luck to your maman.
I used to love sparklers when I was a kid. I wasn’t allowed to hold them, but I used to like watching them as my dad held them.
Pete will never be forgotten. XO
What an amazingly kind and caring man. So glad the four kitties have homes.
That is so true, Pete was a Spark for his kitties and his pals each and every day.
A lovely, caring person. We need more Petes in the world.
