Not sure I could hold a violin bow with these
Well, this is the trailer for the magnificent hour of rehearsals that mama and papa saw last night for the documentary Falling For Stradivari with Janine Jansen. A brilliant violinist, as you will see and hear!
Papa says that when she plays it is like breathing, like part of her body. Truly spectacular!
And mama has loved the violin for years and years and somehow forgot how magically it can transform and uplift her soul and spirit with its amazing range of sounds.
And here is another video of Ms Jansen but it is long and from Facebook, to which we do not belong, so you might not be able to open this. However, you can Google her and find all sorts of wonderful stories about her amazing talent.

Well, today is bath day for me after my musical evening, so I had better get with it.
Normally I do not bathe in public…
But I will make an exception.
Lick, lick, rub a dub dub, get behind those ears, Loulou!
Of course I’ll get behind my ears. What kind of kitty do you think I AM?
But I’ll say one thing. Bathing is EXHAUSTING.
Thanks for that link, I have just spent ages snooping around and watching some of her videos. What a lovely Lady…and all the Dutch…well I can understand it all! Because my parents were Dutch!
I wish though that I could find the documentary about the 12 violins.
It will be out as a film actually, soon, and mama and papa just saw the making of the film on an hour-long doc.
No wonder I couldn’t find it,LOL! I did watch a lot of that hour long how the film was made, etc.
Oh, good, I’m sorry if I sent you a bum steer, whatever that is. The actual film will be fantastic, mama says.
At least you’re clean now…the mom is off to check out this video…thanks for sharing it. ~Ernie
Oh, I hope she likes the artist. So incredibly talented.
Wow, she plays with such passion. Beautiful to watch, Loulou.
We fell in love with her style and passion.
Absolutely awesome violin music….my Mom discovered Lindsey Stirling recently (although she’s been around a while – Mom is often late discovering stuff) and enjoys her dance and “storytelling” with her violin. Violin music is rather magical and not easy to play but Janine Jansen makes it look so effortless. Amazing isn’t it that some have such talent???
Hugs, Teddy
Yes, she really bowled us over! Now we are looking up Ms Stirling!
oooooh – will watch later!!!! Mamma’s grandmother’s brother played violin and she played accordion – in a group that danced! Have to have coffee!! Mamma remembers his funeral – musicians played outside – it was wondeful!!! Not sad – a tribute to his passion – music!! Coffeee…….
Oh, how incredible an how thoughtful to do that. Music is the food of love, play on…
I am in awe of anyone with such talent.
Well, mama and papa were dumbfounded for the whole evening and mama dreamed of violins.
Wonderful music LouLou ! All our huMom can play is the radio…
HA HA…we laughed off our breakfast chairs at this one! Mama plays the pots and pans..
Our Dad loves the violin and always wanted to learn it, he may do it yet.
WOW if he does that, maybe mama can learn her birthday flute that papa gave her. So beautiful. Maybe duets are coming, haha.
I love violin music too, that sounds like a wonderful story I’ll check it out. You are a bathing beauty LouLou. (I’m glad the comments are now remembering your info).
Yes, thank you. And thank you for the compliment…I love to bathe, but not too many strangers can watch, haha.
Loulou, two of my sisters played violins and violas in school, while my other sister and I played flute.
Unfortunately, I never really learned how to read music, so once I was no longer forced…er, um…asked to play an instrument by my parents, I gave it up lickety split.
Two of my sisters have children who played keyboard, trumpet, guitar, and the viola, so I guess it payed off.
Oh, how lovely to have that music in your house. And papa gave mama a gorgeous flute for her birthday but her hands can’t reach the span for the holes, plus she was thinking maybe a piccolo would have been more in tune with her abilities, haha. So we now have this amazingly gorgeous flute in our house for flute players, should they come! It is from The Early Music Shop in the UK. So beautiful…
