My selfie sort of missed! Mama, were you standing on your HEAD? Or was I?
No sun around here today. I think it has taken a vacation…for all I know the sun relaxes in Antarctica, haha. And we have friends in California who are already in SNOW, whatever that is.
Humid, cold, what’s going on in this weird world?
Yesterday it was hot and beautiful and I was sun-puddling out on the mulch and the catnip was heady and the birdies were chirpin’and the arbousier was dropping all those red squishy things all over the patio and mama was gritting her teeth and it was just about a perfect summery day and now THIS!
What a mess. One year mama actually made jam out of these little red thingies but they are gritty with seeds on the outside and those have to be strained out. Still, dark red thingies are supposed to be so good for your immune system, whatever that is.
Does that include red meat?
I’ll stick to my kitty food, thank you. Those red thingies get stuck in one’s teeth…
Yes, in case you are wondering, I eat lying down and have ever since my little back legs got a bit more difficult to stand on. But I’m walking around pretty well and we are all doing a happy dance about these elections, especially the Senate, whatever that is. But it’s pretty important, that’s for SURE!
We went from about 21C to -3 in one day! Brrr!
Those berries, what is their english name?? Not sure we know about them.
It’s called the strawberry tree. But you can google arbusier and find out more. Gritty fruit but tasty, just not worth the effort to make jam, although mama has done it. Anything that red is certainly healthful.
Oh, wow, I did google hat and its a truly useful tree in so many ways. I had never heard of it before. Too bad its not suited to the colder climates such as where we live.
Its also a very pretty tree, judging by the images I saw.
Just don’t EVER plant it near a patio! It is wild around here and in the wild is a better place for it haha. But mama loves the benefits of red fruit so might tackle the jam this year.
I like to eat lying down too, Loulou. ~Ernie
Well, some kitties know their history, as I mentioned…the Romans ate lying down.
Loulou, we’ve had a revolt this weekend!
Both Manny and Sweetie are not eating, and The Hubby and I have no idea what the dealio is.
They are eating some, so we aren’t in a panic, but my nerves are a bit jumpy.
Well, Ms Ellen turned us on to Mirataz, a miracle gel that you rub in the ear, just on the upper curvy part, at night, and it stimulates appetite the next day. But best to figure out just why they have stopped…tummy troubles, constipation, just plain orneriness for wanting a different food? But Mirataz is a miracle for me, diabetic and having had loss of appetite. I am staying my same weight every day now. And I only eat about 40 g of food morning and night, sometimes less. But I am not carrying excess weight, which is easy on the joints, plus I have more energy for my 13 years, going on 14….
Upside down, right side up, lying on your back or your side or your tummy – doesn’t matter which way as long as you eat and are happy!!! We’ve never had little red things raining on us before – sounds better than SNOW though…..!
Hugs, Teddy
Well, I guess shoveling snow could be compared to mama sweeping the patio, except these thingies SQUISH or are eaten by birdies in the tree who take a bite and then DROP them for mama to scrub up! I’ll take snow, I think…uh…but it’s warm here even with squishies. Maybe we’ll opt for a bit more squishiness.
You can eat any which way you want, Loulou. As long as you eat.
Well, that Mirataz is a wonder for giving kitties an appetite. I’m at 5.7k now and feel pretty good.
Your upside down selfie is pretty cute Loulou!
Merci, Mr B, and as I might have mentioned, EVERYTHING around here is topsy turvy most of the time, haha.
We had warm weather early in the week and yesterday a bit of snow.
“The melancholy days are come
The saddest of the year.
It’s a little too warm for whiskey
And a little too cold for beer.”
LOVE that poem but hey, mama and papa do NOT find it too warm for whiskey, haha. One-quartr-inch over ice…took the edge off election anticipation, haha. And probably a few more things…
My Emmy likes to eat lying down too. 🙂 XO
Well, it’s an ancient Roman thing but I hope Emmy doesn’t follow ALL those Roman banquet habits, haha.
LOL I know the stuck in the teeth feeling! I think sticking to your favourite meat will be best!
Well I’m glad to be understood so thank you very much for that one as sometimes I’m not understood around here!
Happy dances for sure!!! 🙂
Red meat counts.
I love you standing on your head. Or hanging upside down. Or Mom.
It came out great!
Oh I just love it when someone really gets what’s going on around here. And I’m pretty sure it was mama standing on her head not me!
You look like you are just waiting for some scritchies on your neck! What are the little red thingies? They sound good to us.
Those little red thing is our fruit from a tree that was planted always in the vineyards or at least grew wild around the vineyards in this part of the woods. They are called arbouses from the tree arbousier. And they make pretty good jam if you’re willing to put everything through a really fine sieve.
lou lou, it haz already rained 4-5 dayz here and dere is snow up da mountain frum us, is 36 degreez dis mornin, but da sun iz owt today
Wowser 36°? We’ve never had that around here and I’m not sure my kitty coat is quite thick enough to handle it! Brrr….
LouLou! You are all upside down! For a minute, We thought WE were standing on Our Head(s) – MOL.
We also had elections here, the week before last. It seems effurryone is doing it!!!
I kind of like living a topsy-turvy life and around here most things are topsy-turvy almost every day. Just having a little fun…
Yes, red things are supposed to be good. I’ve yet to see a red mousie though, but when I do I shall truly have struck it rich 🙂
Now I love the casual eating selfie, as well as the upside down one, which looks extra teeth out smilie 😉
ERin
Oh hi Aaron it’s so nice to hear from you and yes it would be great to have red mousies and really up our immune systems!
The weather is being silly here in the UK too. Warm one day, cold the next and lots of rain and wind!
Oh and yet there are so many people who say that the weather is not changing and that our world is not in a warming state and I don’t know how long it’s gonna take until people realize that we need to handle this NOW!
