PLEASE, BEFORE MOTHERS’ DAY, EVERYONE, READ THIS.
THERE THEY ARE…AT IT AGAIN…SQUAB-BLING OVER BIRD SEED, NO PUN INTENDED! I WILL HAVE TO GIVE THEM MY MANNERS LECTURE!
Well, I am constantly teaching those birdies about how to share their bird balls…uh…grease balls.
They all cluster around and push each other out of the way and I think they need a few manners, no? Well, they will listen to me, that’s for sure!
An interesting bit of history in that article. Mothers weep when war starts…because they know what might happen…so horrid. I thought about that recently when this senseless invasion and war began in the Ukraine. Even the Russian mothers are weeping…what a mess we humans make…
You tell em, LouLou! Here the starlings bully the smaller birds and steal food faster than I can keep the feeders filled. Not to mention the grackles and cowbirds…phooey. Squirrels have learned to stay on the ground because they cannot climb up the stovepipe surrounding the pole, but us pups still decide its our duty to chase them away!
Well, of course, that’s your number one job, puppies! Chasing (anything) is so much FUN.
You really gave them what for, Loulou!
Hey, I did, I did and there are NO teacher’s pets.
Thanks for sharing that article about Mother’s Day…it was an “eye-opener”. I agree about the dangers of what COULD be ahead for the country in SEVERAL arenas. I seem – like many – to be in a constant state of “HOPE” about decisions being made not just here but in the world. As for squabbles with birds over food we have squirrels that squabble…the birds seem to be fine with sharing but squirrels what it all! LOL
Hugs, Pam
Oh, I’m so glad you read it, merci, and yes, those squirrels have a serious GIMMEE ALL about food. Probably want to live up to their actions…squirreling away, haha.
LOL – I’ll bet you DID give them a lecture!!! I chase birds (sometimes) and they seem to enjoy it! But not as often as I used to. But that laugh!! I guess you enjoyed that!!!
Those birdies are in line now!
Hmm, I didn’t know that!
Watched two swifts get chased by a woodpecker today; that was interesting.
Happy Mother’s Day.
Those woodpeckers are very aggressive but such fun to watch. And hear! Mama loves their sounds.
That was an interesting article Loulou. Our Mom and Dad used to live about 30 minutes from where Anna Jarvis lived. Happy Mother’s Day to your very special Mom!
Thank you for reading. We felt it was new information about the origins of a day for women, especially now that the abortion issue is pending. We are going backwards if it passes, and it is very dangerous. The next possible attack might be on gay rights or against people of color.
That was a very informative article- thank you. Our hummingbirds are always fighting by the feeder. Happy Mother’s Day to your wonderful mom! XO
Will you get the prize for the best mom of the year for taking those two darling kitties in and being their mama so thank you from us and I hope there is a healthy and active summer ahead of you and your wonderful kitties and your typhoid Mary and the other little one!
Over here we have blue jays. They can ve bullies but they also raise a ruckus and warn the other birds of any intuders – fron the cats to the crows.
Oh, we know blue jays well. Lots in California where mama and papa lived. Lots of fun actually! And in Texas there were greckos and here the goélands (seagulls), not fun, too cheeky. But love the magpie and the merles who sing, sing, sing all spring.
LouLou, We are absolutely certain they won’t dare NOT to listen to you! Woe betide the cheeky bird that ignores YOU.
They are learning, they are learning. Share and share alike, right?
