I say THIS to the terrible, devastating fires in LA!
Well, mama finally is reminded that …see below, with apoogies about the curse words but hey, they are fake Olde English and poetry , right?
Or at least a send up of winter, by Ezra Pound, the poet.:
“Winter is icummen in,
Lhude sing Goddamm,
Raineth drop and staineth slop
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm.
Skiddeth bus and sloppeth us,
An ague hath my ham.
Freezeth river, turneth liver
Damn you, sing: Goddamm.
(There is more poem but too may damms…)
Mama picked up laryngitis somewhere and is steaming her head in this cold, cold weather so as not to let this bug go further, plus it has been about 15 years since THEY have had winter bugs!
And then there is Los Angeles, City of Angels…we are shocked and saddened beyond reckoning for our city, There are no words for this fire and its devastation. Our hearts go out to all livng there who have lost everything and to the many shelters caring for animals. May the winds abate!
And now our new “leader” says there is no global warming…..
Sorry, don’t get mama started, but the dry season in California was longer than usual and water was scarce and the winds much stronger than usual, and, and, and…..
One dear friend’s house in Brentwood is saved, so far. A positive note on which to end this lament…
Be warm, be safe, our hearts go out to everyone and remember to hug your kitty or doggy or friend or mate every day of your life.
And may Spring not be far away this year.
UH, oh, we forgot Fiat, mama’s first ginger kitty and we send him celestial kisses….
What a sweet pussycat that Fiat is, sweet Angel LouLou, just as sweet as you
Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day and one Healing Pawkiss for your mommy to feel better soon

Merci, you darling duo! Fiat was indeed a sweetie, quite large, too, but hunted outdoors and was very svelte and golden.
Oh no, Loulou, I’m so sorry to hear that your mama isn’t well. I hope she gets better very soon. I also hope that the LA fires are extinguished soon so that all the humans and animals affected can be safe. Such a sweet pic of Fiat. We have plenty of gingers in our hood.
Yes, the fires are unimaginable…mama may not be blogging for a day or two as laryngitis saps one’s engergy!
You go political almost all the time.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. ♥
Well, it’s hard not to in this very disturbing political world, especially with T on the horizon who says there is not global warming….
I’m purring for all those affected by the fires. The devastation is horrible! Hope your mama feels better soon.
Merci, Mr Murphy. She’s getting better but the fires in her ex-city are very affecting.
We are so sad over the devastation in California….heart-breaking. Your photos cheered us up though – your Mom’s cat Fiat looks like a “garden kitty” too!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, he was, and such a sweetie!!! Like you, Teddy!
The wildifres are terrible news. I hope the brave fire fighters are all OK.
We have to say that no one is okay in this terrible event, but we think the firefighters are all right. There just are not enough and the winds are devastating and the lack of water….
The fires have been truly terrible. I just hope the brave firefighters are all OK too.
Oh, we do, too. SO many lives lost, everything lost. Unimaginable.
What a lovely ginger cat! Ours went to the Rainbow Bridge last month.
We are all worried about the fires, it is their Hurricane Katrina, and we went through it and yes, things are changing.
Here’s my thing, climates change, always have. The argument is how much is human caused. The way I see it, it doesn’t matter because we humans are doing a lousy job of taking care of our beautiful planet and are fouling our own nest and we need to act as if it’s our fault and do a better job!
You are so, so right, Ms Messymimi. How could we be so ignorant of the terrible things we do to our planet? Keep the faith, that’s all we can do and individually be aware of what we can GIVE to our earth to heal it.
Your mama’s ginger kitty was beautiful. I am glad your mama’s friend’s home is safe. My prayers are with all those poor people dealing with the fires. XO
Oh, Ms Ellen, it is the worst in history and thank you.
We learned Chaucer’s original in high school — Mr. Pound’s version is much more appropriate now !
W too send purrayers and love to all those effected by the cataclysmic fires.
Merci, Ms Mary. We are reeling from this event. So many we know in LA are in shock and cannot get out of it.
I hope Mama feels better soon. Fiat is such a cutie!
Brian’s Home
Merci, Mr T. Fiat was a realy sweetie.
We hope your Mama feels better soon. The current batch of nasties are slow to get over.
Boy, it that right!! And mama hasn’t had a cold for years and years and yes, these bugs are tenacious!
Oh, LouLou, it is furry sad what is happening in California. Mummy has many friends and family out there, including her nephew and his wife and baby daughter who had to evacuate their home, tempurrarily (they are already back) and others who are still threatened by the fires.
In answer to your question on Our Blog, Mummy and her Caterwauling Club friends sing all kinds of mewsick, classical, modern choral, arrangements of popular songs etc. Several people and anipals have wondered, so We may write about this a bit in this week’s post.
That is a lovely selfie of You.
MERCI, J-Cats we would LOVE to hear about your mama amd her music and maybe….HEAR some????So glad your nephew and family are back in their home. Thank heaven!!!
Oh, yes for spring!!
We are horrified by that fiery hell in LA.
Hubby has a bad case of the winter upper respiratory bug too right now. I sure hope it doesn’t invade me!
We are using some good old herbal remedies to help us stay well/get better.
Oh, please pass them on…when mama coughs she drinks very hot water and it is magic…the cough is at bay for awhile and steam helps, too. And you doggies bring joy to the poor papa!!!
