Well, am I surreal or WHAT?
And not just because it’s strange around here with both of THEM coughing and wheezing, but also because for New Year’s Eve in our little town in France, there is always a theme. This year it is Surrealism, as in Salvador Dali mustaches will be prevalent, I’ll bet. Or deer’s head masks, or faces with one eye painted somewhere else on the face, thing like that.
Now if I were going (or invited) to this year-end bash, I would go in a bowler hat and pin a fake dove on my muzzle.
I think. But Tuxie feet sticking out from under anything I wore would be surreal.
Mama should dress up to keep warm (the party is in the streets after all) and just wear a GIANT mustache so her face will be toasty. Now as for papa, I think maybe he could go in a melting clock suit, that, of course, mama would have to sew…oh, boy. Not sure she is up for that right now.
The end of a year is sort of wistful, especially when I can do very little to get mama over this cough. I think I’ll go make her some nip tea, that should do it.
My mommy has a bad sore throat and stuffiness too but it seems to come and go from one week to the next. Hopefully your peeps will go as well! And it will stay away for all the peeps!
Well, it is evidently the season for these baddies. But this one is a doozy, mama says. Then papa says, Oh, no, it’s always like this. You just haven’t HAD anything for so long that you’ve forgotten how awful those bugs are.
Nip tea should do the trick. If I were there I would give her one of my chew-bones. But hopefully everyone will be well by the Surreal new Years Eve!! Love your idea of moustache, bowler hat and fake dove! Jus don’t be tempted to eat it. If I were there, we could go as twins (bowler hat, moustache) – and I could have a steak attached to my face. Howzzat?!
Yes, a very FLOPPY steak, like those clocks, haha. Well, they are BOTH hacking away and this weekend looks like everything in it will be cancelled, birthday party, concert, pizza. OH, NO, PIZZA!
Your poor mama. And now your papa? They had better hurry up and get well or you’ll be celebrating Christmas opening their presents for them. Last year Jan was sick with a bad cough for a solid month and missed the holidays, so she can empathize.
Mama says these coughs from from hybrid mutant aliens…or maybe it’s easier when one is…er…a bit younger….

Oh my goodness LouLou – this is both surreal and a bit of a cautionary tale !
Well, it’s pretty surreal around here all day long right now. But things are getting bette, very slowly.
Maybe an apple, if you cannot catch a dove ? Or – considering World Events – “Guernica”??
Oh, yes, Guernica. What a story. Mama has seen it and it’s amazing. And the poor little town, used as a target to try out weapons…immoral.
