What’s that you called me, mama?
Well, mama and I were discussing how many foods are used in terms of endearment (whatever that is) and I came up with one because a French kitty came into my garden and meowed, “Ah, bonsoir, mon petit chou!”
Just yesterday in fact. And I thought, “Masher!” Which of course refers to potatoes, I think. But a chou is a cabbage so I wasn’t sure I heard correctly. A CABBAGE? Gee, merci, pomme de terre!”
But a choupinette is translated as “sweetie pie”, so there’s another food reference.
And how about “Hey, honey, how’re you doin’?” Or sugar pie, cupcake, sugar plum, ducky, or my little pumpkin, how about those?
And when mama asks papa something really dumb such as “Do you think I’m getting fat,” he always answers, “Why on earth do you think that, my little butterball?” And then she says, “No, really!” And he says, “Of course not, my little dumpling!”
End of conversation.
But here’s my problem: mama and papa come up to me all day long to caress me and interrupt my reverie, murmuring….
sweet nothings, haha.
The lady with the yellow hair always calls me Peanut. Another food reference! ~Zoey
Oh, I love that one. And when you’re irritated, does she call you Peanut Brittle?
Oh, Loulou, mama and papa have nicknames for me – Papa calls me “intestin”,and “la Gouloue”. Mama calls me “Pett Bijou” and “Hoover”. But I am adored by both — so are YOU!!!!! But we know that already…….
I think I would call you “little Mya ‘Mallow” but NOT because you are fat, only because mama LOVED your little tummy.
Quel fromage ! (as I once thought the expression was, until the French teacher straightened me out)
Oh, I love that! So funny.
You do look pretty darn happy Loulou!
Oh, I am happy, so happy and love your blog hops!
