Telling tails, haha.
So here’s the story, folks. I did actually post some of this memoir in 2013 and just thought I’d try it out again as a starter for longer memoirs and at least it got me off the dime and I appreciate all of your observations. You were polite not to mention the myriad typos in at least one of these meanderings, not to mention the repeat info from long ago. Merci.
There is certainly enough news around the world NOW, so that I don’t have to scrape the bottom of my past literary barrel, whatever that means, to jump start my book. It has already jumped and started, evidently.
So here’s the latest excitement from around here. Yellow sauce tomatoes are in the freezer in freezer bags for mid-winter, and mama and papa are in love with corn soup, a recipe that my aunty Barbara sent to mama and it was love at first bite!
You will never say that about little old me, haha. I really don’t seem to be a biter, and certainly not a blighter, haha. Hey, when it rhymes, it rhymes…
Earthshaking news, no?
I’m just not capable of writing about the terrible events in Kabul, about anti-vacs and COVID, about so many sad and terrible stories that seem to take over all newspapers and tv shows and more.
I did, however, learn that a little boy with apparently long arms saved an elderly woman who had fallen in her home but her daughter couldn’t get the door open because there was a key in the lock on the other side.
Stories like that, I can pass on to you.
And if that lightens, just a little, our often heavy hearts, I’m on the write track!
Loulou, just snuggling you cheers us up!
Mom and I love seeing the photo of you and your momma, Loulou!
Well, I love your photos, too, with your furry family.
I like your rhymes, LouLou, they’re purrfect, just as you and the way you keep near to your pawpaw and the picture of you and your mom. That’s what life’s all about😸Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead🐾😽💞
Oh, we have a nice relationship here, but it’s these diet things that get me! Now I’m slender again, we’ll see if THEY give in to a little cheese every now and then. I love cheese.
Dad does not even watch the news anymore. Too much conflict in the world but we sure like seeing you put the tail on your Dad and giving Mom the paw of love
WE DON’T EITHER! Mama and papa used to watch every night. Finito.
Loulou, you are so punny. 😉
Haha, it’s in my blood, must be mama’s fault…
Well that little boy has a lot to be proud of! Thanks for sharing a happy story Loulou. We too try to focus on the positive things because we’re so constantly surrounded by negative things – EXCEPT for in our house! We smile, hug, laugh and look for the little bits of fun we can find. We love the photo of you “hugging” your Papa’s neck with your tail and the one of your Mama holding you in her arms. JOY IS WHERE WE FIND IT.
Hugs, Teddy
That’s our thought, too. We are aware of the troubles in this pandemic world, we read about so many unfortunate people, immigrants, homeless, abandoned animals, and some days it’s just too much. Perhaps we were more in tune with nature BEFORE the internet, and yet, here we are, we have it, and it’s in our lives. Just have to be selective…
And it’s great for looking up meanings of things or origins instead of getting in a car, driving to a library (burns gas), parking the car, finding a librarian, finding a reference card, finding the info book, looking it up, putting it back, getting in car, driving home, etc…….you get my drift.
I am sorry I am late catching up with the selfies this week! Still I’m here!!
While we can’t say ‘too much news’ we can certainly say – let’s take a breath with the sadness eh?
Yes, lots to smile over, too. Just have to look and find.
Will read the story later – after coffee, LOL!!! BUT I’m not a biter either – except other doggies who get too close! HOWEVER – I have never bitten a person – or a CAT!!!
I like the cat part…mama was clawed, not bitten. I didn’t make that clear, I think.
Corn soups sounds good. I make corn chowder once a year, thanks for the reminder.:)
Mama would like you recipe for corn chowder. And we have a chef friend who cuts each row of kernels and presses out the corn to make FRESH polenta…way too much work, but oh, so tasty.
Yellow tomato sauce sounds luscious! I like all Superhero stories, especially if they are small Superheroes. Thanks for sharing that with us LouLou.
Great story about that little kid ! Good for him ! Sweet picture of you and Mama too ! Purrs !
He really was a heroic littlt boy. We look for good news wherever we can find it. Glad you liked the photo. We like YOU.
Yellow maters are really good! I’m not a biter either, but I don’t have too many teeth left anyways Loulou.
Oh, I don’t either. But it was my claw that nicked mama, and then it swelled up.
It’s a wild world out there, Loulou…best to just give and get hugs from your loved ones.
Hey, I’m stayin’put, that’s for sure. I’m too old to go exploring.
