Okay, dear readers, I know that the title is a bit…er…personal…but mama and papa are VERY thankful for those little absorbent pads that…er..seem to be where I choose to…er…do whatever…uh, only the P-word, not that other thing.
But WHY do I pee outside my very clean litter box instead of IN???
Diabetes may be the problem, but I am so happy to do that OTHER thing right in the box and B12 has helped my back legs so why…?
Go figure.
I know this is a bit up close and personal today, but if anyone out there has insights about…er… my little problem, mama and papa would be really be happy to have you share them.
My litterbox is cleaned all day long when needed but I seem to not be able to put all of me into the very LARGE boxes I have. They are oversized and low. A serious puzzlement.
Merci for any thoughts on this you might offer.

On a very sad note, my dear friend, Mya, has joined her mama, who left us a few months ago. But we are so, so thankful for our lovely, sweet time with Anne and Mya, and we are so glad that Mya’s papa, Jean-Luc, will be living very close to our little village now. We are so fortunate to have him near but we are all devastated by this loss. We will visit with Mya’s papa very soon…
So sad about that precious pup. Hope you find some answers to your potty troubles!
Well, I think the vet will help and I think I need a bit more insulin so that I don’t pee as much….
We are trying different approaches, haha. Mama puts me IN the box to pee and I often pee on command….
We used to use puppy pads for Pipo, and he too began to just ‘go’ all over the place. He had a level entrance to his box…so we just put down more and more pee pee pads…we tried litter attractant, but that had no positive effect, though I hear it works for a lot of kitties.
It is frustrating for sure…
Hope your pawrents can figure something out. Maybe you need two boxes, one for #1 and one for #2!
So sorry your friend lost his precious Mya. I made a memento in her honor, but no matter how I try to send it, it bounces back to me as a failed delivery.
I will post it to my blog when we put up our Sunday Selfie post, and you can easily snag it from there…to hopefully pass it on to your good friend, to give him a wee bit of comfort during this difficult time.
Oh, thank you for all of these ideas and yes, maybe two boxes…Good idea. Thank you for the mememto. We are going to look at it this morn and yes, we will get it to Jean-Luc. Merci, merci.
lou lou, i haz wun ov these:

no corners, the entry might be a bit high but dee elevator cood fix that fur yoo
Oh, Gidget, you are always helpful and yes, that kitty potty is very pretty but I am much bigger than that right now at 13 years old. What a great idea, however. And yes, the elevator loves your suggestions!
I’m sorry to hear about Mya. Purrs to her family. As far as your litter box issues, you’ve gotten some good tips. A high sided box could help. It may be that even with the B12, etc., your legs still aren’t strong enough to hold you up to pee correctly. But whenever you start doing something out of the ordinary, a vet visit is usually called for to rule out any health problems.
Oh, we keep our vet in steak, haha. I am going AGAIN next week. Actually I go each time something changes, but mostly for regular glucose readings from an actual blood test. We have bandelettes at home but they are not totally acurate.
Oh no, Loulou. I’m so terribly sorry to hear of Mya’s passing. I am happy that your mama’s friend will be moving closer, though. I’m sure you all will be a comfort to him. I’m glad that you have received some input on the P-problem. I hope it resolves itself soon.
Well, mama keeps taking me INTO the box and talking about what to do and patting my…er…opposite end from my little head…and I pee on command. Sort of. But last night I peed twice IN my box. Things are looking up…er…IN.
Loulou I see you have been given some good suggestions on that P-problem. I use my box for all things but actually prefer to go outside when I can. Angel Sammy stopped going over the side of the box when Mom got a SUPER HIGH SIDED box for him. I’m sure your clever Mom will figure something out. So sorry about dear little Mya but I’m glad that her Dad will be living closer to you!
Hugs, Teddy
Merci, Mr Ted. I think the high-sided suggestions are going to materialize soon.
I am sorry about Mya. I need more information on the litter box issue. Do you pee over the edge onto a pad or is the pad nowhere near the box? XO
I pee over the edge of the box onto the pad and sometimes some falls in the box.
Hey Loulou, have you tried dr easly’s cat attract litter? It worked good for our Angel Precious. We’re very sorry to hear about dear Mya, that’s sad. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Mama is making some catnip tea to spray on my liter….who knows, it might work. AND merci for the info…THEY are reviewing dr easily but may not be able to get it in europe. Will report.
If Mom had some idea, she’d be able to cure Astrid of only using the box for #2. It is a real conundrum. Happy your parents are able to take care of your needs with the pads. We are so sorry for your loss of friend, Mya, and her mom. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, angel Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
Merci for your kind thoughts. Mama is going to try catnip leaves crushed and buried down in the litter….will report.
And we are very sorry about your dear friend Mya…but she and her Mama probably did have a joyous reunion. Their Papa will be lonely, so it will be good for him to be near you and your Mama and Papa and other friends.
Merci Ms Mary and yes, it will be wonderful to have him closer to us. Everything happened too fast…
We keep puppy pads around too LouLou – especially to line carriers. We don’t have any helpful advice for you and the anthros, except that sometimes a vet exam can scope out some problem. If you drink a lot of water with your diabetes that could have an effect. I also read in other cat blogs that the pads go on the floor all around the edges of the litter box, so if there is a near miss it absorbs any problem.
Well, my kitty sitter did put them all around, when they had been only at one end, and mama feels that maybe that made it ‘ok’ for me to just go on the pads. Now mama and papa run to catch me and put me in the box to pee when they can, or mama sometimes just puts me in the box when she sees I have drunk a lot, and then she pats my rear and says GOOD Loulou, GOOD Loulou very nicely and I pee on command, haha.
did this start when the d-o-g came to bisit, could be a marking territory? mum sez to check fur bladder stones, urinary tract infection.
Merci, Gidget, yes I have had checks for kidney problems, etc already and I do drink quite a bit of water although less now that I am better. Thanks for your suggestions. Mama is going to try something I don’t know about yet….
Here’s hoping some one has some info that may help you, Loulou.
Purring for Jean-Luc, who had two hard loses.
Oui, Jean-Luc really had two terrible losses this year, but he has a new house in a new city and we hope that will help. We miss both so much.
Hi sweet LouLou. We had a kitty with a similar problem and found that those high-sided storage boxes was the solution. We have an article on our blog about it – go to Catscue, click on the DIY along the top nav bar and choose DIY Litter Box to see what we did. It may not be a designer litter box look, but it worked!
THANK YOU, merci, mama is going there right NOW! We’ll see if that can apply to me.
