Inspiration for Buona Forchetta Hand Made Breads!
Oh, boy, something so wonderful happened this morning when mama and papa were out for their walk and stopped by a little bakery that they don’t go to that often, but this time, they did and there was a fresh fougasse and lovely large loaves of country bread and a very nice man behind the counter. So mama said, You know that this bakery was my inspiration to make fougasses so that I could relive my sweet memories of Collioure at home in the US and I really owe it to you that we started our bakery in Los Angeles, worked hard, brought fougasses to others, and then sold the business, which enabled us to be in France sometimes. So mama says, Thanks for the memory!
And the man said, Yes, I remember you—you used to run in the mornings and you stopped by for warm bread and I was just a little boy and one day you brought me a sample of your focaccia with rosemary and I remember that bread! And mama almost fainted.
No longer a little boy
What a memory you have, she said, and to think that I never knew what my future was going to be when I visited your wonderful bakery each morning.
So that was a nice start to the day, and mama’s going to take him another taste of her cinnamon focaccia even if he’s a man and not a little kid any longer! She’s weird that way, taking bread to bakeries, but bakers like to share something they both love and talk bread talk.
I just hope she leaves me a piece at home when she take it over there tomorrow…
If not, she’s going to get a real rise out of me, haha.
(And if you are ever in Collioure, France, go to the little bakery in the centre ville run by Kader Ghilaci, 9 Rue St Vincent

How neat to meet the man the little boy became and to have him actually remember you. Have fun break tasting.
Jan says she needs to find some fun bread recipes since the bread she’s been buying is tasteless.
Mama is sending you a recipe that even a child can make. Just FOLLOW directions and DO NOT KNEAD THE DOUGH EVER!!!!
