Or, rather, the night!!! I WAS NOT INVITED TO THE VIGILIA, as it is called in Italy, the vigil. But I had a vigil of my own thinking about this TUNA AND POTATO Pesce Finto (fake fish) that the little grandanthro, Margherita, decorated all by herself. My favourite part is the tongue. I think we have a budding caterer in the family, and she’s only nine!!! Mamma was really blown away by this fishy, but guess who else could have been, TOO? ONE GUESS. Still, they brought me a photo. Gee, thanks, dudes.
Mashed potatoes, tuna, lemon peel, a bit of onion, salt and pepper, mayo, and the ability to sculpt the whole shebang into a poisson! Mama could have sneaked a tiny bite into her purse, but did she think of that? NO!!! I think it must have been the early-in-the-evening-margaritas that sort of took over any sweet memories of me at home alone with NO POTATO/TUNA FISH! Or tortellini in brodo! Or pudding with cream on it!
Oh, boy. Next year it’s naughty for this kitty.
NO NICE AROUND HERE FOR A FEW DAYS AFTER HAVING BEEN TOTALLY LEFT OUT OF THE LOOP. Whatever that is…
Merry, merry days ahead and a sweet countdown to the New Year from all of us.
Thank you, everyone, for the lovely cards and kind comments, as always.
Right now, I’m grooming my fur, but you can bet I’m giving THEM the brush off, too, haha.

Hey, it’s nip and tuck around here. I got nip and they got to tuck into the CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING.

Thank you, Timmy, and a great new year for you.
Oh goodness – my note disappeared!! Mama just wanted to make sure the FUTURE ARTISTE-CHEF knows how wonderful her creation is!! FUN – and YUMMY for sure. We’ll be looking for her in the Michelin awards in the years to come!! BRAVA!!!!!
What creation? What chef? You mean the cookies? Those are from Henri from Lyon and he gets all the credit. All mama did was tweak.
Margherita’s FISH food-sculpture!!!!!
Mama can’t wait to serve that one in FRANCE!!!
Merry Christmas LouLou and your family! That is a cool fish. One year I shaped my guacomole into a Grinch face 🙂 XO
OH, that is wonderful. I’ll tell mama’s daughter in law to do that one next time!!! Brilliant.
