Loulou, mama can help you with tomorrow’s blog. Tonight she was tuned to 12 special violins made by Stradavari!
Well, mama and papa were enthralled tonight, whatever that means, by watching a documentary about 12 Stradavari violins from the 16 and 1700s, and the very different sounds from each one and mama just couldn’t take the time (!) to help me edit my blog. It’s almost midnight and I do understand, but still…
We are going to find a video tomorrow of the young, incredible violinist who recorded on each of these 12 instruments and who will, if I may use a very old phrase, blow your mind!
Now I have to wish you a sweet goodnight with lovely music-filled dreams. I will have them for sure.
Wow, I wish I had seen that!
I used to play the violin, in my younger years…it pains me now to hear some of the music that I had played…but alas the passing of years have caused ‘Mr Arthur Itis’ to make that no longer possible…plus I left it alone for a longish time when my boys were very small…but I made sure to allow both of them to experience music, too…the older one was very good at piano and organ. Another alas, he decided to stop…citing: I don’t like classical music or playing the organ for church services anymore…sigh…
Oh, don’t ever stop your music if possible! Mama plays piano and Mr Arthur Itis is visiting us, too. But she still plays and loves classical, Shubert, Schumann, etc. How wonderful to have experienced the violin!
That is amazing how they each have a different sound but that is the beauty of hand made products
Yes, the Alard was our favorite…huge but sweet sound that made our bodies practically vibrate! It is the most famous of all, I think.
We watched a documentary about the bad weather that Europe experienced, that made the trees have short rings…and that made the violins so very extra special!
What your humans watched sounds fascinating too.
Now that is fascinating! What wonderful knowledge we get from readers, thank you!
That must have been some sweet music!
It was very emotional for mama and papa. A brilliant violinist.
Loulou I love the photo of your little head in your Papa’s hand…..it’s precious. The young lady violinist and all those amazing Stradivari violins sounds like a rather magical experience to listen to. I think you can probably forgive your Mama for not finding time to help you do your PART TWO. Purrrhaps today…….purrrhaps……..
Hugs, Teddy
p.s. My Mama says again THANKS for making her feel special by mentioning her birthday.
You are so welcome. But your mama IS SPECIAL!!!
Violins are such beautiful instruments, Loulou. Must have been a fascinating show.
Well, we will put a video on the blog today.
Ooooh – how wonderful!!! Loulou, I wish I had seen you but I wouldn’t go up the stairs and you wouldn’t come down. NEXT TIME Mamma will carry me up the stairs (if I lose some weight) – Mamma says I’m a bit fat. But I LOVE to eat! They took me to The Westminister Bar last night and I had “SMACKOS” – REALLY good!!!! BUT we walk a lot…..
SMAKOS sound really tasty. Do you smack your uh…lips. Do doggies have lips?
YES – we do have lips and I lick them often!!! You would TOO if they have Smackos for CATS!!!!!
I’ll try to find Smackos for cats but mama only gives me healthy treats, especially when I come in at night!
That is a good excuse. 🙂 XO
It was really thrilling. Today I’ll try to find the video of this extraordinary young player, Janine Jansen.
We have heard of 12-string guitars, so when we started reading this we thought you meant a 12-string violin ! Then we realized it was 12 separate very special violins ! We will be interested in hearing them when Mama has time to help you blog.
Oh, Mary, it was heavenly music. And the violinist, Janine Jansen, is a wonder. The Alard violin, made in 1715, was out of this world. The sounds are all different and the violinist said that the violins tell HER how to play them. So incredible.
Loulou, you always are adorable in your photos, but that first one is priceless! XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet
Oh, you kitties made my day! Of course, that is my favorite chin-resting place in all the world. Papa is so gentle with me.
