Flowers for Francesco..
Today in Rome, the whole city is quiet and awaiting the procession that will carry Pope Francesco to Santa Maria Maggiore where he will be laid for his long rest. His feats were many, and he tried to bring enemy factions together to make peace and show compassion for their disturbed countries, but sometimes in vain.
He published many papers urging peace between nations. There will be a long procession from Vatican to his resting place, which will take quite a bit of the day and there are 160 world leaders here attending the ceremonies.
Religion is, of course, a huge part of what is happening, but Pope Francesco was a man for all seasons, all religions, all people and will be remembered for being an exceptional and caring and kind-hearted human being.
Would that we had even one in our suffering United States of America.
These are from various seasons, but mama wanted to put in her favorites. Sweet Love, above, has an incredible perfume, but the rose is not easy to find.
Have a perfect calm Saturday and hug your kitties and any other who could use one…
“Charlotte”, grown from a cutting from our neighbor’s rose that his mother grew over 100 years ago, a lovely climber, but no smell. Still…a hardy plant that goes on and on, as will Pope Francesco’s legacy.
Beautiful roses. The world will miss Pope Francis.
Oui, he is already missed by so many here….you can feel it.
Your roses are so beautiful that we can smell them through your postie, sweet Angel LouLou
Soft Pawkisses on this special day

OH, mama is so glad you can smell the Sweet Love. It is really the best of all and so hard to find.
It is hard to lose someone who tries so hard to bring peace.
Your roses are beautiful.
Merci Ms Messymimi…the pics are from many seasons. Yes, we need to KEEP people with caring hearts.
He was a kind person, and to me, that’s the most important thing.
Absolutement…Kindness over all is most needed in this world.
Beautiful thoughts and roses!
Merci, Ms Dolores…soon you’ll see our Lynne and mama would love to see you, too.
Beautiful tribute and beautiful roses. XO
Merci, Ms E. Such a loving and generous man.
What a lovely tribute, LouLou…including Mama’s roses. Interesting about the neighbor’s hardy rose : my mother’s name was Charlotte.
Oh, how wonderful, mama says, to share her rose name with your mama’s name!
I watched the ceremony this morning here – so many people gathered for one purpose – to honor the extraordinary man who KNEW what peace was, who KNEW what help the world needed, and who KNEW love. It was all deeply moving and SO many people there honoring, expressing, remembering, praying……for him. As for the roses – they’re beautiful – the flower of love…..perfect.
Hugs, Pam
Merci, Teddy’s mama, and yes, mama watched, too, and was so moved by so many gathering to laud his huge heart and generous spirit.
Such pretty flowers. We will be watching for the white smoke!
Brian’s Home ~ Forever
Isn’t that exciting and wild, the smoke signals? It will take a few weeks, everyone says, but who knows, perhaps someone has been in line all the while…
