Today I’m just pondering what’s happened. It’s going to take some time to work this all out. Meanwhile, there are some good articles on this event if you have the time to read them. One is a letter from a screenwriter to his fifteen year old daughter and his wife.
Another is the editorial of David Remnick at The New Yorker.
That’s about all I have to offer today, but I’m thinking about a lot of things as I’m sure you are doing, too.
Perhaps we shall all be surprised when none of our fears is realized. Or maybe we will not and all will unfold as we feared but this kitty believes in kharma, and that may take care of everything.
Let’s keep holding hands, all of us.
Oh LouLou, we have no idea what you and those who were on da other side were/are so ‘fraid of. We, da others were truly terrified and fur good reason. We think it’s time dat everypawdy unites fur our great Country. We always luv seein’ fotos of you tho’. Of dat, we can never get ehuff. You be lookin’ so gawjus and gracious. Big hugs fur all. Have a great weekend.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
No doubt we will all find out if our fears are warranted soon enough. Right now, we wait.
We’re afraid too, Loulou. Wait and see… Purrs
Wait and see is all we can do really. The proof is in the pudding! Let’s see what he stirs up in the political kitchen.
Oh, Loulou, if only all Americans were as wise as you are. We must hope for karma. Fondly Karen with Henry, Lily and Jane
Well, only kharma time will tell. I think I misspelled that. Karma, thank you. Seemed as if a little ‘h’ in there was correct, but no.
Much of the world is holding it’s breath and hoping things won’t be as bad as feared. We need to hold hands/paws and be there for our friends when they need it.
WE shall hold paws gladly and overcome any fears we might have. The world will keep turning.
We hope for the best but fear the worst. The orange monkey’s son is meant to be in charge on ‘internal something or other’ including animals. The USA will have none left.
Seeng you has cheered us up no end tho’
Happy (if a bit late) Sunday Selfie
Hope I can bring more cheer today!!! Thank you for your kind words.
That’s the spirit, Loulou!!!! But being a dog, I think I’ll just go vomit on the rug…………..
Now THAT’S the real spirit, Mya!
Just sharing a photo of you is more than enough.
Oh, you are too kind. It was sort of my contemplative self-portrait.
Beautiful picture and sentiment 🙂
Thank you so much. I just have to look on the bright side because the other one is so depressing.
Oh Loulou-karma. Yes.
“The mills of the gods grind slowly/
Yet they grind exceeding small.”
WHOA, now that’s a very good thing to remember. Who said that? Don’t worry, I’ll google it, but thank you.
Actually, I didn’t know who said it so I googled it as well. We have a choice:
Sextus Empiricus – 3rd Century AD
Euripedes
Henry W. Longfellow in his poem “Retribution”
I probably read it in Longfellow, as I was an English major.

Retribution
THOUGH the mills of God grind slowly,
Yet they grind exceeding small;
Though with patience he stands waiting,
With exactness grinds he all.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Oh, thank you. A lovely poem by Longfellow to share at a perfect time.
Loulou, you are always a wise kitty. Holding hands and paws right now seems like a good plan. We think lots of prayers are in order as well. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Yes, we can all stick together whenever we are worried or scared and the world is brighter.
Your mama and papa will always keep you safe, Loulou. You never need to worry about politics.
Oh, thank heaven! I really don’t like getting into politics that much because one feels so incapable of DOING anything about it.
