Are THEY trying to tell me something?
Are they out of their minds?
Well, I tell you, mama and papa have a weird sense of humor. My uncle Dan is always sending funnies to me and mama urges me to publish them and I guess I really couldn’t pass this one up. Nor about a gazillion others you have seen. But he’s a gentle-man. Here is his pet hummingbird on the dictionary:
Pretty wonderful, no?
And that reminds me that many nice people send me lovely photos of their lives and their gardens and what’s going on in their towns and these beautiful plants are from I guess what could be called my great aunt in Magnolia, Arkansas. There, the Magnolia Blossom Festival will be held in spring.
But meanwhile, here are some beauties to help us all get in the mood for when spring has finally sprung!
Azaleas and dogwood (excuse the expression) at Auntie Lois Gene’s house. I can just smell the perfume in that town when everything blooms at once.
And here is another reader’s contribution to my photo gallery of spring:
I wonder is that is the rainbow bridge? It is so, so big and certainly can handle lots of visitors, so maybe that is the one. I’m so happy to see it, even if Princess has gone to visit there. We send our condolences to her family. But glad for a very beautiful place to live with other kitties…

Today is Respect Your Cat Day!
Did Mama used to live in Galveston ?
Mama is from Houston from the age of five, born in Dallas, but her best friend was from Galveston…Sandy Graham but not her maiden name.
Mama was describing hurricanes – I thought maybe she was in Galveston. If you do not like sailing, LouLou, you are doubly lucky that Mama has moved away from hurricanes ! You could be asea on the top of your big rock !
Sad to see another kitty go to The Bridge. I like the penguin kitty, that was cute.
Maybe I have cousins I really don’t know about!
Apartment Living still isn’t loading…
I’m working on it. Published another one today with different title. Maybe the backup has a glitch so changing the wording might work. Thank you for feedback.
What beautiful pictures ! We are in “mud time” now.
Purrs to Princess’s family . Do you have a link?
Uncle Dan must be amazing – the closest I’ve been to a hummingbird was when I was sitting in the yard and one came up and just hovered in front of my face for a moment (no, I don’t have a red nose, either !)
Oh, Mary, how funny. My grandmother, mama’s mother, used to color the hummingbird’s sugar water with red coloring but then found out that wasn’t good for them. Don’t know what they use now.
A lot of the feeders they sell over here have red on them as part of the feeder. That is what attracts the hummies – red or orange. I have Jewelweed growing all over as I have many wet spots due to artesian springs in our area and they love the little orange flowers. Some people get so many hummies at once that they fight, but with my “weeds” they have plenty of room.
Purrs !
Oh, how lovely to live over artesian waters!!! Are any of them HOT, mama wants to know? Decadent, she.
No – alas ! And not so exotic when the rains come and the overflow seeps into the basement !
Thanks for describing the wells. And having good water and a deep well is really nice.
