A celestial banana is available to all my friends here…such good care is taken with us…
Bonjour to all. And let the games continue…
Then again, perhaps the Olympics have gotten a bit out of hand. Papa thinks so and mama certainly was surprised at seeing break dancing as an olympic sport! Not to mention Basketball 3×3 or Beach Volleyball….
Oh, well, “whatever turns you on”, as mama used to say in her youth…along with “too much popcorn”, which meant too much of anything had just been consumed/smoked/acted out/drunk/whatever, and it would have been better to have been moderate in all things.
Perhaps that’s our spark today, mama.
Moderation in all things.
At least where exercise is concerned and you’re over 50! Did you know you can gain weight by stressing your body with too much pushing, working harder, harder, longer, longer.
Your poor body will say, “Hey, you, I don’t recover as well as I did before 50 and so I’m going to retain some nourishment in order to survive!”
Nourishment = fat.
But we know full well that these amazing athletes are not in moderation mode. Because all of them are so YOUNG!
Still being moderate in many other ways does help the brain think better and the over-50-body operate more efficiently. Twenty minutes a day of moderate exercise every single day can keep you going for a long time.
Even ice cream can respond to moderation, haha. Sigh…
Wait a minute….is that chocolate or vanilla you’re talking about…?
French vanilla, of course.
A very thoughtful spark, most things do better with moderation or considering when to stop.
As for break dancing, it is athletic and requires being a prime physical specimen, and perhaps if ice dancing is a sport, so is this type of dance. Wiser heads than mine must decide.
Well, mama wants to see the break dancers for sure. She LOVES it…and only gets to see it on sidewalks, haha.
You can never be moderate when it comes to ice cream!
Hear, hear!!! No way, Jose.
My Mom is amazed at how young ALL the Olympians look….but then at her age everyone IS a lot younger than she is. The impressive thing is how excited they all are to be there in Paris and how amazing they all are at what they do. They did add some “interesting” events to the Olympics didn’t they…..but it’s all exciting to watch. I think I could be a Catlympics Gold Medalist in NAPPING!!!!!!!!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, Teddy, you would win, paws down! Or …tummy up. Whatever. You’ve got the gold. And you MATCH YOUR MEDAL!!! And yes, the gymnasts especially yesterday, those little girls with their perfect faces and sweet
behavior with one another. So darling. One was so beautiful she could have modeled for anything for the face!
Ice cream…we think there needs to be a law against moderation as afar as ice cream is concerned, BOL!
I sure would not want to play volleyball in the sand…at least not now anymore, I did it a few times in my twenties! But not at all like those athletes!!
And you are right about stress in the form of too much strenuous activity causing the body to go into fat storage mode. Cortisol levels are the culprit there.
Those nip nanners were always. a hit here too,..Minko would rip them apart! MOL!
Oui, cortisol…baaaad…unless it’s good, haha. But yes, moderation is SOOO much more fun, haha. And ice cream is NOT verboten! Ever. Especially for us kitties, just a little…
I plan to have a moderate amount of ice cream for dessert. XO
YES DO!!!! You deserve it. And you can make your own in 3 minutes with mama’s recipe…..
No chocolate ice cream for kitties LouLou !
Today’s pictures are new to us and quite amazing !
Oui, chocolate for any animal is not so hot. Mama’s mama once visited her daughter in law and son with a brand new knit dress in her suitcase and a box of Godiva for the house. Miggin, the bad bearded collie, beloved by all, got into the suitcase……..bye bye dress, covered in chocolate and oh, Miggin was NOT happy….she recovered but probably gave up thieving chocolate.
What a cutie.
