Corn bread? CORN BREAD? Does it have kibble in it?
Well, I don’t exactly trot around this house, but trot went well with turkey so what the heck…
We are so very thankful for all of you out there who follow along on our often strange life’s journey, and we are thankful for a roof over our heads and food on the table but above all, friends and family, and only wish that Ukraine were not suffering on this special day and that the homeless had homes and the hungry had food.
Mama made some corn bread with little corn niblets in it, which is usually the basis for stuffing a bird, but we’re having that minus the bird with our purée of carrots and potato and duck confit this year.
Hey, I can have some of THAT!
And papa has asked to have a little plum pudding for dessert, jumping the gun on xmas!
But he deserves the best so I am making a little hard sauce for his plum pudding, whatever hard sauce is….
I don’t think making it is too hard, haha.
I was wrong….
HAPPY TURKEY DAY AND LOVE FROM US IN COLD BUT SUNNY WEATHER.
Glad you all enjoyed Thanksgiving, Loulou.
Yes, it was short and sweet but full of thanks.
That looked like quite the feast, Loulou!
Well, it was meat and taters and then that plum pudding topper for papa, yes, a nice little dinner.
Loulou I bet that cornbread was fabulous – In fact I bet the whole MEAL was. My Mom made a great “turkey and trimmings” this year and I slept right through the whole thing. Not a fan of people food even turkey! We are SOOO thankful that we met all of you and for your friendship as well. If the power behind all of the world’s wishes for the Ukraine could WORK, they would all be in safe homes with power and water and plenty of food and Russia would be – well – in their OWN country minding their OWN business! Sending you hugs from Virginia!
Love, Teddy
Oh, we would have loved Thanksgiving in Virginia, Teddy, I would have snoozed with you during Turkey Time, haha. Maybe we could have rustled up a little yogurt, haha.
Hey, its fun to share our Holiday with us way across the pond from you.
Petcretary made a vegan meal to make the unfurbro-the-elder happy…well, he had pretend turkey, and we had the real…wrapped in bacon, Mmmm!
Then she made a spicy coleslaw, a raw cranberry relish with ginger, roasted bite sized potatoes, and a pasta mix with butternut squash and spinach, seasoned with onions and fresh basil. She also made a cooked spicy cranberry sauce…but, um…well lets just say it went to the recycle because she burned it. OOPS.
Then she made a vegan pumpkin pie with coconut whipped cream…that was actually yummy!
Happy Thanksgiving!
OMC..WHAT A WONDERFUL MENU!!! Mama was so touched tht you would tell her the whole menu in detain and she has made some notes on that pasta with butternut squash! Lots of those around here lately. And the cranberry relish…genius! MERCI pour la carte de Jour de Dinde!!!!
