Oh, boy, are they ever coming back from their walk? I would go, too, but it’s colder than a St Bernard on a rescue mission out there!
They did see more pretty decorations.
And Palazzo Altemps where the two halves of a famous boy were put together again after having been in two distant places for years and years without anyone knowing they were the same statue.
This is the head of Antinous, companion to Emperor Hadrian and the rest of him will come when mama finds her PHOTO!!!
One of the painted ceilings of the Palazzo Altemps.
And another (there are MANY), including this next one of gold:
A huge fireplace in one of the many enormous rooms of the palazzo.
A sarcophagus depicting a war betweens Romans and barbarians, all intricately cut in marble!
HEY! WAIT A MINUTE. THIS IS NOT THE PALAZZO ALTEMPS, PAPA!
Who is this little creature and why are THEY petting him (he was shivering all over because it was very, very cold) other than that papa took pity on his poor little dwarf Pinscher body. Actually he turned out to be rather charming, THEY tell me…oh, sure, charming.
Okay, okay, he’s charming. But really, folks, must you take photos of every little darling doggy you SEE?
When they showed me that photo, I gave a few rabbit punches to my comforter just to feel better.
Then I pretended my string was his tail and then mama said, “Loulou, he didn’t have a tail, so there!”
Then I relaxed a bit because they came home from their jaunt and gave me really good tuna in sauce.
Forget and forgive, I always say.
Loulou, that Palazzo is beautiful, but think how difficult it would be to heat to the comfort level you have when you stay home ! Thank your parents for allowing us to travel with them !
Boy, are you right on that one. We would FREEZE in that place. Not to mention the dusting….
Wow those are some wonderful ceilings and carvings. The Greeks and the Romans are our favourite part of art history. They taught us everything that is the foundation of our architecture – amazing!
Yes, we are mad about the Roman and Greek cultures, which show themselves all over this amazing city. I look out from my couch on the Doria Pamphilj palazzo and it is lovely.
Wow, Loulou – I’d pretend to be jealous too if Maman would give me tuna in sauce!! And I know it’s just an act since you KNOW you are Numero Uno.
I did feel a bit of sympathy for the little pinscher and would have gladly given him my sweater (which I detest!!). Meanwhile maman is gaga over the beautiful shots of the Palazzo!!!! You could do what Maman and Papa did with me in Barcelona this past weekend – they put me in the doggie-stroller and zipped it up (it’s mesh so I can see out but not so easy for people to see in) and just roll around like it’s a bébé!!! We went in all the “forbidden places for dogs” and when the security guards realized I was a pretty strange looking “grandchild” they just giggled. I definitely spread some cheer – and a bit of shock and awe !!
Maman going back to gawk at the photos again……………….
I wonder…..kitty stroller…..hmmm. I think I would be a bit difficult in a stroller and I’m not sure papa would go along with it, but I’ll think about that one. So wonderful, Mya, your stroller and you so CUTE in it. They would let you in anywhere.
Yeah, we’d forgive for good tuna in sauce, too. Wait! What kid of sauce?
You know they will always come home to you, Loulou.
Did I say tuna? I think it was more like shark!!! HAHA
Beautiful photos. Don’t worry LouLou, no one is as cute as you.
Well, even I fell for that little ‘dwarf’ doggy. He is called a Dwarf Pincher.
Oh LouLou, we think you’ve nuffin’ to worry ’bout. those are some really purretty fotos. And mini doggy is cute. But nuffin’ holds a candle to your beauty. And your pawrents think dat way too, we just know it. And we actually thought dat second to last foto was of baby LouLou. You’re so scrunched up there, you look so little. As always, we luv seein’ you. Big hugs to all. Stay warm and have some extra cuddles.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
I wish mama had some photos of me as a baby. I arrived sort of full-blown, haha. Six month or a year, we’re not sure. But I’ll put in some early pics one day.
