This is kind of wonderful and exciting. Mama’s stepdaughter, with a 20-pound backpack and a good friend, is off walking part (127 kilometres) of what is known as El Camino, the pilgrim walk that starts in France and ends up in Santiago de Compostela on the far side of Spain. The actual farthest point of Europe, as you can see on the map, is in Portugal, which you will see in the Wikipedia article, but still. One feels as if one has reached the ends of the earth when one gets to Santiago de Compostela. Nic is walking the pilgrimage up through Portugal.

What an adventure!  But they didn’t invite me. Still, kitties can go a very long way for a very long time if they are motivated.

Mama wishes she had done that walk at or at least a stretch of it a few years ago when all of her parts were working a little better than today, or at least when the parts took less oiling than they do now, haha.

In two weeks, I hope to report on Nicole’s trek and all the things that happened along the way. Remember the dashing man on horseback from my other blog about El Camino who whisked away my friend’s friend into the sunset—who knows, there may be another knight on his way to the end of El Camino.

I think that black kitty prowling around here the other night wanted to whisk me away, but I let him know who’s who around here and I haven’t seen him since.

Maybe I’m a little hard on my suitors…

Or not.

I just told him to take a long hike and suggested El Camino.
