You know how some Mondays just start off the week with a BANGAROO and other Mondays sort of slither in, almost threateningly, and hijack your outlook? You’ve had that happen, right? You just want to lie down with your mama or papa and wait for Tuesday?
Well, today was like the latter, even though I did enjoy my tuna and kibble and a little walk in the garden, but I headed for the bed asap when I saw the grey clouds gathering.
AND…yesterday, mama had dropped an envelope containing a cheque in our street and went back to find it and it had disappeared into thin air!
Still, one can always turn things around, yes?
Pretty soon, mama will be jumping up and down with that crazy Avatar, whatever that is, looking for some endorphins, whatever they are, and I will have posted my blog and papa will have received from Ms Amazon a simple-to-use cell phone for a close friend who is in a nearby physical rehab center after having fallen in the night, so she’ll be able to talk with us and her friends, and I’ll try to cheer her on with silly photos of me doing fascinating and extraordinary things (whatever they are, haha).
And then there will be the smell of sizzling shallots or sweet onions as mama starts whatever it is she has decided to put together for lunch, so I think I’ll just snooze until that happens and forget about how some Mondays, because of this weird isolation, just need a little rest themselves in order to come back strong and smiling next week.
AND…a kind and thoughtful neighbor or tourist or SOMEONE put the lost envelope in our MAILBOX because the return address was on the back. YAY, YAY!!!
Get with it, Mr Sun, it’s your turn to brighten our Monday!
Hey, I think I caught a ray — YAY!
sounds like a busy day that ended really well Loulou
Oh, exhaustive day…but aren’t they all…required great long rests of the spirit and soul.
Thank cod Monday is over…we hope the rest of your week is better.
Well, it was a certain Monday and doesn’t happy every time. I think this Monday needed his/her rest.
How kind of your mystery person who put the lost check into your mailbox! Small towns/villages are more friendly like that I’m sure. We sure hope your Mama’s friend gets better soon but in the meantime, how kind to give her a phone so she can NOT feel all alone as she recovers. That’s very special!!
Hugs, Teddy
Well, papa is a pretty nice papa…and she doesn’t work modern phones too well so he thought maybe a simple one would be better. Her husband helped also but now he is at hospital with a neighbor who thought he needed to see a doctor.
Sometimes a week just need to start on a Tuesday and that’s ok, Loulou. What a kind soul to return the cheque – hooray! I hope your mama’s friend recovers soon.
Thank you, Militza, and yes, a kind neighbor (or tourist?) saved my bacon…there was a check in it for a publication in which mama is showing her paintings. And yay, it’s Tuesday now!
A painter and a writer – what a talented mama!
Well, she likes to do things things, but needs to paint MORE and write MORE and not put things off…talent? Not sure….
What a good neighbor!!! We have really good neighbors in our building, too. One reason we hesitate to look elsewhere for a terrace! BUT winter is coming – so who needs a balcony or terrace, LOL! I like snuggling with my furry toy pals in my little bed. Well, when there’s no food…….
No terrace needed in these Collioure winds. Mama cannot even walk outside plus all the fruit has blown off of the strawberry tree and if you walk on the terrace you get red-soled shoes, haha. I know now to skirt them, whatever that means.
That was very kind of someone to put it in the box.
Well, there are a lot of sweet neighbors in our little ville, or maybe it was even a tourist walking on our street and saw that mama’s address was on the back. Yes, so kind. Maybe we’ll find out one day who it was.
Hurrah for whoever returned Mama’s check !Restoring your faith in humanity is a much needed commodity !
We were so tickled and it does happen more in a small village I think.
I hope you find that ray of sunshine Loulou and how nice someone returned that envelope!
People are pretty nice here.
