Well, ‘wiggles’ is a misnomer in the sense that yes, I did wiggle around on my chair when THEY returned, but frankly, this nice stretched out yawn is what I think of it all. Hey, so they’re back. Duh. So my dinner was especially good last night (a little steak frites, minus the frites–they were sweet potato and I like the gold old plain ones) and if I could have done, I would have don what mama does when she eats out and loves the dish:
This is for the chef, always fun to do since even anthros love messing about with their fingers in food.
But hey, mama sent some nice last shots of Rome that I’d like to post here, just because summer is waning and it’s another little walk through that magical city.
If I can figure out how to get a little video into my blog, mama gave me one of this incredible monument, the Pantheon.
And here’s the cellist who draws huge crowds day and night.
The amazing paintings in the Palazzo di Venezia, one of the most beautiful palazzo in Rome.
Big, too!
The floors that drive mama nuts.
A familiar anthro next to one of the many little fireplaces, haha. Inside, taller than mama, but come to think of it, almost everything is taller than mama, haha…
Candlesticks, taller than papa, and the entrance to the grand ballroom.
A painted anthro dressed like a cowboy who pulls out his pistol over and over and twirls it back into its holster.
The Tiber at night–all along the banks are little places to shop and eat, during summer only.
And with that, I’m off to ninna nonna again…all this travel wears me out!
Here’s what the song says, a nice melody for your listening pleasure…the horn is fantastic.
Ciao, ragazzi.
And happy birthday to mama’s oldest friend from grade school, Sharan.
Rome is an amazing city. The mom hopes she gets to see it in purrson some day.
To my mama, it’s the world’s most beautiful, even with all the problems right now with a bit of garbage pick-up and the restaurants changing a bit because the orginal owners are aging and turning things over to kids who know zilch about food. But there are still some really great places to eat well and inexpensively. I am SURE their bacala is really good (salt cod).
Love those shots and Happy Birthday to Mama’s (hmmm, we don’t want to say “oldest” but LONGEST friend!! Hehehe, Sharan!!) Love your Mom’s tradition of putting a heart on the pan!
I just hope it gets to the kitchen and the cook! Who knows who might draw in that gravy, especially if there is a kitty around…
Ooooh, mama getting nostalgic for Beautiful Roma!!!!! The photos show the beauty and remind mama of the beautiful palazzi she saw when she was with YOU. I was soooooo jealous, but I’m over it, since voyage is NOT my thing.
“They” finally came to their senses and brought me back to Nice from their stay in Menton – heat wave and no AC. Well, I won’t let them forget THIS. But wait……they’re saying we’re going back in 3 days – grrrrrrrr. But there some cute doggies there I must investigate more closely…..Italian, I think. I can see AMORE in my future!!!
Hey, Mya, amore only and not matrimonio, no? OH, I forgot, we are…er…adjusted to not have to worry about repercussions, haha. Have a ball with those Italian doggies–they are so, so cute.
Your parents are so lucky to have access to such beautiful places and art. And you 🙂
Well, they certainly know that and are thankful themselves often. Mama walk out in our little ville in the morning and just stands there in wonder saying thank you thank you over and over again.
Wow ! Thank you for more views of Rome ! Though I kinda found the cowboy a bit creepy. What are the “open carry” laws in Roma ?
You are so right about frites.
Hey, it was a water pistol, I think. He was a bit creepy. There are LOTS of these silver-coated anthros doing weird things all over Rome. The best, though, is the guy with no head, just glasses and a body. He’s cool.
Probably he was less creepy in person.(That’s often how things are – though not always…) Glad there were no real firearms involved !
He was sort of sad, mama said, because he sometimes missed his cowboy holster! But tourists’kids liked to have their picture taken with him for a euro or two.
You don’t like sweet potatoes? But you had steak? Mmmm.
Thanks for sharing the lovely photos of Rome.
You’re welcome. And I did NOT have ALOT of steak because the steak was really small and thin but they shared….
Beautiful photos!
Thanks for sharing.
We are on our way to Rome and Paris in September maybe we will run into you!
Happy Birthday to your mama’s friend!
Noodle and crew
OH, you guys, email mamma and give her your dates. There is a chance she will be there at end of September and would LOVE to meet you and she will send you her notes on Rome right now!
Thanks fur sharing your peeps’ travel photos! Mine loved their visit to Rome when they went. They especially loved the Pantheon, too, and the kitty cat they saw at the Forum. Purrs!
Oh, those Italian kitties…so cute (MAMA SAYS!) but haha, they don’t travel well either so they are NOT coming here.
Famous last words? Hehehehehe. Some cats do travel across Europe. We sometimes go to Germany with our human. Just saying. 😀
