Well, that’s about all I can say today. That, and chow down!
IT IS WET AND WUSSY AND WINDY AND WEARISOME! No tiptoeing through the tulips today.
But that little basil plant still has hope for a ray later…
(Mama lost Tuesday, in case you think you missed something. You didn’t! I’ll have to take her in hand today.)
And THIS will cheer you, from mama’s sisinlaw and Dan, her partner.
It’s gray and raining here today, Loulou. It’s supposed to get colder and turn to ice then snow. I’ll be glad when winter is over! ~Ernie
Oh Ernie, we hope you get warm weather soon. Hang in there and snuggle with someone. Who’s warm, that is.
Oh my – that is a lot of rain. I’d be staying inside having extra naps on a day like that. We loved the baby owl video – they are so cute and training them to survive in the wild must be difficult but sometimes it’s the only way. We hear owls at night sometimes!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh, I wish we had owls. All we have are whippoorwills, which I think are quail hoo-hooing. Or maybe mourning doves. So many sounds around here but NO OWLS. What a hoot, haha.
Those owls are stunning, Loulou. I love the way they move as though they’re hearing music in their heads. I hope the weather gets better for you.
What a lovely way to see an owl! Maybe when I see one next, I’ll listen for his owl song! The weather down there is not so hot, right? Hope all is well.
It is rainy here, too…we are a few hours drive from Eastside Cats…and yup, we are supposed to get a nasty winter storm…again. It was 9C here earlier. Then its supposed to get very cold after this snow storm stops.
Good to be inside and warm and cozy!
We thought that was cool how those owls were helped back into the wild.
In the evenings I often hear some type of owl, but I never have seen them. Eons ago, near the Toronto International Airport, I saw a Snowy owl. No mistaking that one, it was all white! Goodness knows how it got into an urban area.
WOW, A SNOWY OWL!!! You really don’t see those often. So glad you liked the little owlies.
Well, we just woke up and it’s Thursday here! But not wet – yesterday was beautiful here! BUT – Friday well be raining all day! Guess it’s moving this way! OH I HATE rain!!!! And I can’t use the toilet like Loulou. Maybe diapers……
HAHA diapers…I’ve seen doggies with diapers…well, mama had a monkey once that had diapers and mama died them green for St Patty’s day…long story…HEY, who not use Puppy Pads. They work BEAUTIFULLY. Just put down a pad and show Mya where to pee. fold it up and toss. So easy and mama has them outside my litter box for accidents because I don’t like to poo and pee in the same box, can you believe it and mama cleans it twice a day!
At least you are in a warm, dry house. XO
Yes, thankful for that, always.
That looks way too wet for just about anything Loulou!
MISERABLE. But today it’s sun…go figure.
We have a local raptor rehab center (though they take in other birds too) These centers are so valuable !
What a wonderful thing to have. I’d love to visit the center with papa. He LOVES raptors. There is a raptor center near here also with a bird show…the birds fly off and show off their skills and catch things to eat and then come home.
Loulou, we have warm temps today, but are supposed to get a nasty rain-then ice-then inches of snow-storm tomorrow.
We support a few wildlife rehabilitators in our area, and I like owls!
In our backyard, we have racoons, skunks, and opossums.
When I put out food for the cats, I make sure to remove any leftovers so I’m not feeding the racoons too, however.
Oh, how wonderful that you have them. All we have here is Chat Bleu, a feral cat refuge and good people who spay the kitties and return them to the “wild” (streets). The cats look very healthy and I WAS ONE OF THEM for a short while. I was in good shape, however, well, sort of, when I found mama and papa, so I think I was either lost by tourists who had to return home or I was dumped…..so sad. But here I AM, yay.
Loulou, we are so glad that you found your furrever home. We believe that Sweetie was dumped or ran away from her original owner who lived two doors away in a run-down apartment building. I remember seeing her in the window of one of the apartments, and when she appeared in our yard, she was heavily pregnant. She was very skittish, so after she became a regular at our feeding station, I trapped her and she was spayed, then returned to our yard. 10 years later, I trapped her again, but released her inside, and voila, she is Queen of Sweetie’s Apartment, and we love her so. The apartment building has been razed, so no more stray cats from those renters!
Wow, what a beautiful story! And did she have the little kitties? I’ve never had kitties and I think mama would have liked to have let me have them, but then to find homes is not easy. But mama doesn’t have kitties either, haha, and she’s fine with that!
