Okay, okay, so not many in health professions (or otherwise!) wear this one. But at least it covers my nose and mouth!
Well, it seems that those who wear their masks and are out and about, possibly around airborne COVID from a sneeze or cough, will get (if they do get) a smaller dose of COVID virus than if they are not masked. And if the other person coughing or sneezing has a mask, the amount of particles will be even smaller.
This article is really important. Your mask may indeed help your immunity to COVID, but nothing will be as effective as the vaccine, the TRUE vaccine, one that WORKS.
Mama says that she’s not taking anything that is not totally proven to work and that Dr Fauci says is safe. End of discussion.
Maybe I’ll wear this one (I know you’ve seen these, but what the heck), because many anthros simply do not wish to get too close to piggies!
We can oink at a distance.
Gotta wear your mask to be polite and save lives
Yes, you are protecting your fellow anthro, above all, along with yourself. Not to wear one simply says, “Hey, you don’t mean a whit to me, so bug off”, not what we need in these times. We need cooperation TOGETHER.
Those masks might scare people away from you, Loulou…then there’s no issue about getting the virus!
That was my plan…cagey, no?
So I’m inconsistent. I wouldn’t want to *take* an experimental vaccine, but I’d like to prove I’ve had the disease and get paid for some plasma that can be used to *make* the vaccine. To be tested on whom, I don’t know.
(Seriously–most people who don’t have major chronic diseases don’t know they’ve had coronavirus. I had a strange chest cold with chest pains, which is how a lot of healthy people describe coronavirus if they notice it at all, but it’s not been confirmed that it *was* coronavirus. It was all very mild. I kept thinking “I’m doing quarantine for this?” and remembering that people who can die from coronavirus are also likely to die from common cold or flu.)
About masks…is it true that French people find Americans easier to take if Americans can stop sticking their teeth out all the time? I’m American and *I* think a lot of my townsfolk look much better when they have to smile naturally, with their eyes, or not at all!
Look up the statistics on death from COVID and death from colds and flu.
As for masks, if you did have COVID and did not mask up or quarantine, you might have been passing the virus around. You can be tested to see if you did indeed have COVID. Mama’s stepdaughter had it in London, right at the beginning, for three terrible weeks, and it came back, and finally it left her, weakened and worried for organ damage. Fortunately there was none, but the top epidemiologist who has worked with all pandemics, Ebola and more, was in hospital with COVID and took oxygen because he did not wish to die on a respirator. He went home, he had a relapse, and he said in an interview that when he finally was released and went home to his wife, he walked in the door and broke into tears. He said, and mama quotes, “YOU DO NOT WANT THIS VIRUS. Put on your masks and stay distanced and let’s lick this thing. You do NOT, I repeat, want this virus.” Everyone, of course, will make his/her own decision. The Swedes supposedly have something very promising, but it is still being tested. This family will wait. And wait. Good health to you and safe days.
Not me, Loulou, I adore little piggies. Better masked than sorry, I say.
Mama goes gaga over little piggie and spare ribs have disappeared from her menus. But, hey, a pig will eat YOU if he/she is hungry, right?
I must admit I like that piggy mask but SO FAR Mom hasn’t made me wear a mask – after all I don’t go anywhere and I’m only around Mom and Dad. They are good about masks though even if they aren’t piggy masks – just boring blue ones. It’s so important (I tell them!) to wear them because I love them and wand them to stay safe – if more people wore them things would be BETTER in the world!!!
Hugs, Teddy
Teddy you are so right and yes you want your mama protected and everybody you know and love protected. And people you don’t know in love for that matter!
LOL – Loulou, I’m not showing this to Mamma since she might make ME wear one! They wear masks every time they go out Not me, so far! No more restaurants (except Romolo where there is practically no covid on the Ligurian coast) and MAYBE a trip to Pietrasanta in the near future – depends on the covid situation. What a mess, huh? But I kind of like the pig mask! OH – and Mamma painted me and you in a painting, teehee, to hang in the bedroom!
Your mama is one cool mama Mya! And I don’t think they want to hide your cute little face!
But they call me a cochon-pig very often. I’m not showing her this!!!
WHA’? Those bad, bad anthros of yours. You are NOT a little piggy, you are just…er…enthusiastic about eats.
I always wear a mask when I go out and I plan to get a vaccine when available. It is common sense, not sure why so many have a problem with it.
I’m afraid Ellen the common sense is not one of the major attributes of over 30% of the USA right now.And good for you you smart cookie.PS I would love the sweater that you had on your kitty and I probably would’ve worn something like that but I think it was just that pinky thing that didn’t appear to be my taste.Love from Loulou..
Maybe you’ll scare ’em off because of swine flu Loulou !
Oh, you are bad!
We like your mask Loulou! The peeps might not take any vaccine the first year, sort of like a software update, wait until the “bugs” are worked out.
We agree on the no bugs 🐜!
