Hey, a nice little glass of white would be good with this, no?
Well, they are coming in, a bit early, mama says, but the summer was too hot and the grapes are ready to stomp. Just kidding, make that ‘press’.
What’s left after the vines are stripped.
Into the barrels to age.
Tonight it poured rain but everyone says that’s good for the grapes. I wonder…
I remember that the harvest is usually in October, but evidently they have to get the fruit in early this year so it doesn’t rot on the vines.
HEY, grape-pickers, over here! Just dump out this water and pour in the red, okay?
Hey, I was just kidding! Put the water back in.
Our most famous wine from around here–supposed to be good with CHOCOLATE! Hey, I’ll skip the Banyuls, just bring on the 85% Lindt or a Magnum, okay?
Hey!
My hubby makes wine, but he did raspberry this year instead of grape.
Wow, very impressive. Do you have grapes 🍇 in your garden?
Hmmmmmm We don;t know much ’bout wine LouLou, but we do like da green seedless grapes. Mommy doesn’t buy them anymore, but me ‘members them from many years ago. Enjoy.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
You won’t believe this but that weird doggy that visits me chases them around the room like marbles. Oops, it’s tomatoes she chases, and then EATS THEM. TOMATOES!!! I think grapes are nicer.
We are laughing out loud at a couple of these – in that first shot, with that look in your eyes, there has got to be some sort of fish in that pasta!!! But in that other shot, you look like you’re warming up your leg for some serious grape stomping. But I think Mama would prefer you learn to peel lemons for limoncello. Ferments faster than wine. Yummmm………….
LIMONCELLO? Wow, whatever that is.
We just picked our concords and made jelly. My hubby makes wine, but he did raspberry this year instead of grape.
WOW, you make your own wine? May I help you guys stomp?
All time is time for wine!
I’m just saying…
Noodle and crew
At last, someone who really understands!!!
Hey, Jan wants to know did your mama drink it all or did she leave some for Jan? 🙂
Oh, there is always a glass here for Jan. Or two.
Mom agrees with that 85% Lindt, but she wouldn’t mind a nice glass of red wine as accompaniment. So Loulou, did you see the debate last night? We don’t know if it was televised for you or if you caught it on line. Mom and Dad were wondering where they might move if the idiot wins the election. They can’t imagine that would happen now, but there are a lot of stupid people. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Hey, you can all move to France to this little town and watch the French antics that are about to start here! But NOTHING is as bad as that weirdo. It is hard to watch, frankly. How about Canada? It’s closer to you, but Europe is cheaper.
Mom has always wanted to live in Vevey, Switzerland, but knows she cannot afford it! That buffoon just better not win! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Well, you’d be surprised at how inexpensive things are here compared to the USA. Our doctor visits are…get this…22 euros. Physical therapy….20 euros. Food: about one-third less and much fresher, right from the producteur and wine is really reasonable.
It is nice that you have wine produced locally. My mum likes to have some chocolate with her wine sometimes. We only used to visit you for Sunday Selfies, but now we have added you to our reader so we will know when you post.
Oh, thank you so, so much for visiting more often and yes, Sunday Selfies is a good place to start new friends! I try to visit at least three each time but there are so MANY wonderful ones.
Hey, wait, you’re in the area of Banyuls wine ? Don’t close the door, Mum is coming with the 85% Lindt Swiss chocolate ! Purrs
Yes, WE ARE JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!! Come on over.
