That is one BIG hole, mama. Doesn’t the rain come in? No?
Wow, good architect!
The Pantheon with its famous hole in the ceiling…
So many statues to perch upon and survey the antics of the “senate and people of Rome”…senatus et populus qua romanus”…on every Roman manhole cover and elsewhere on public properties. Just to remind everyone what belongs to whom, haha.
Santa Maria del popolo, mama’s and papa’s favorite little church and the lovely angel holding the blessing water.
Last but not least, mama’s favorite food!
I think I’ll do little tours of beautiful places now that the weather is lovely…more to come.
I have not been to Rome in so long, it was beautiful. Maybe someday I can go back and see these places again.
Oh, Ms Messymimi, it might be better to just look at google videos…and not have to fight the tours that cram the streets.
MOL..there’s a whole lot of hole in the ceiling, huh😹At least you’re able to see it, sweet Angel✨Extra Pawkisses just for you🐾😽💞
Oh, I am seeing so many wonderful sites. Or sights….
The kitties and I just love that photo of you, Loulou! And what magnificent art!
Merci, kitties and Leah and we love YOURS.
My Mama loves those prickly things too – her Mom just boiled them and served them on their own with a little dish of butter for dipping the leaves in and Mama would eat the tender bit and move on to the next and the next until getting to the “choke”! What a treat they were. I would like to play with one!! Glad your Mama and Papa are seeing the sights and enjoying their trip.
Hugs, Teddy
Well, more to come…..
Such a pretty place. I’d love to see that some day but it won’t happen.
Well, we shall do little tours and you can have an armchair experience! Frankly, it’s almost more rewarding to see photos than fight the tourists!!!
You’re most beautiful, Loulou. Yes you are.
Love all the shots and love the angel the second best. You’re always the first best in everything, Loulou.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Awww…love your visit and merci for kind words. And yes the angel is quite lovely and so sweet, just imagine, in marble!
Beautiful photos. That is a pretty angel. XO
You would love this little church…so sweet and lovely marbles by Bernini and wonderful murals with little animals in them. Hello to all of you from Roma.
Artichokes are YUMMY!
Definitely one of my favorite foods also.
And one of the few items that I had to teach The Hubby how to cook when we were first an item.
Back then, we’d boil them, and dig the leaves into melted butter.
Nowadays, he grills them and we have artichoke hearts with grilled sweet potato and quinoa or barley.
Sometimes, with pasta.
Drool drool….mama makes a purée of artichokes as she can buy completely cleaned baby artichokes in Rome and just put them in salted water with garlic and mint and a little olive oil to simmer and soften. Then she drains and sautés them in more olive oil, garlic and mint and whizzes them up in the food processor with a bit more olive oil until very smooth. Toss this with pasta and parmesan or just dip into it with bread sticks or anything you have to dip with! LOVE roasted on the grill!
