What on earth is this, World Cat Day? I am really in the dark about what this is and what it means but I like the sound of it, so I went online and found out that there are about a million more cats existing as pets than dogs (at least in 2007) and that cats are, above all pets, the most popular. Somebody’s thinking around here, that’s for sure.
Now here’s something funny. Mama was reading an article about Karl Lagerfeld who has a cat named Choupette and he says (slightly imperfect quoting but what the heck…) that cats are not tendre, which anyone can see means “tender”, but he has not yet met ME, the tender Loulou who snuggles and licks and purrs incessantly with unabashed pleasure at simply living in this magnificent place, this world so made for a kitty like me, a world in which my only desire is to be TENDRE. So there, Karl.
But he also says that he loves cats because they do exactly as they please, which is why mama loves kitties, too. He says a cat plays with you because he or she chooses to, not because you want him/her to. Well, I play because, yes, I want to, but because I need to exercise papa and give him a workout from The String Game, whether he wants it or not. I myow (they call it ‘peeping’ because my myow—and I like that spelling—is not one of those caterwauling, ear-splitting, high C myows that make you want to throw your cat to the dogs) so sweetly when I want to start the exercise class that both of my anthros fight over who is going to play with me and get to go into hysterics at my antics. They literally roll on the floor with laughter when I start my act.
And laughter is the best medicine, a famous author wrote, and so I encourage that in our house, and on this World Cat Day I am going to be especially wacky and weird, just to see my anthros crack up yet again.
Rejoice, cats of the World Cat Day, and keep your family fit!
Lagerfeld also in inventing names for his designer candles, one of which is Juicy Food, inspired by Choupette. He also says she wears a fur coat that no designer will ever equal.
He’s right on that one.
If this ain’t Blackglama, what is? (I owe it all to olive oil, extra virgin…)
Loulou, nothing is better than play and laughter for keeping those lazy old apes fit. If we didn’t live with them, we feel sure they would never actually move even one muscle, unless it was to visit the litter box or the fridge.
How shiny you are, and so long too.
We wonder about Mr Lagerfield, he says some horrid things about female apes sometimes, but worships Choupette. We hope that Choupette gets to do some normal cat things on a regular basis. She apparently has two full time ape staff to do her bidding. We think that is about right.

You are very glamorous. Making your anthros laugh is a great way to celebrate World Cat Day.
Thank you for understanding the value of humor! Of course, I am always wondering why my anthros are having hysteric fits over my antics. It’s all normal to me!
