Can you believe how some people plant? He understands who understands, haha.
Well, mama is feeling sort of weird about HER garden, when our neighbor’s garden looks so orderly and neat and perfectly laid out. Mama went out one day a few weeks ago and just THREW seeds over the prepared soil and hoped for the best. And THIS is what happened! Salad.
Huge amounts of spinach with leaves as large as small plates (!) and lots of mesclun and baby lettuces and arugula. And I mean LOTS. She and Mya’s mama and papa and Mya’s papa have been eating it at the gallery for a week now. Well, almost a week, but there is so much and it’s bolting, whatever that means, because of the weird weather. I think that means pick it quick and don’t look back. Or maybe plant another round.
With mama’s way of planting, that’s easy, haha.
But look at the beauty of neighbour Jean’s garden.
I mean, really, it’s amazing…perfect rows, lovely order.
Well, mama, back to the planting table….
Oh, by the way, this is “Paysage”. Not sure we put this in. It will be long gone to California soon.
Not me. I’m stayin’ right here!
Just like this. I can do “paysage”, too.
You’re right…all your mama’s garden needs is a little salad dressing. 🙂
OH, you all are creative!!! I’m going right out to pour some olive oil and vinegar on the plot!
Very seductive glamour shot, that opening photo!! Well, Loulou – the garden looks beautiful and I’m getting samplings of it – every time a piece of lettuce or spinach falls on the floor, one of our mamas will say “hoover” – and I come over and swoop it up, just like a 4-legged dust buster! The only problem is they need to drink more so they will drop more food. Any suggestions?
Give your mama a bottle of Nip Juice for Mama’s Day!!!
Bolting is a big problem when it gets too hot.
Boy, is it ever. And todayit’s COLD and windy and by noon, hot and calm….go figure.
That first picture of you is exquisite. Though I’m not sure how to read your expression.
Both gardens – neat and random – seem to be growing very well.
Oh, they are growing. This rain and sun have made a change in everything. And you should see the ROSES!!!
